OFFLINE | Rode the bike today. Surprisingly, even though I'm eating healthy and working out, I'm gaining weight and it's not muscle because my clothes are not fitting. I think the medication I'm on is the culprit. Weight gain is one of the side effects. Grrrrrr! Had to buy new pants because my favorite jeans were getting way too tight. |

Another week of the same including the 2 pounds lost (21 since the beginning of the year)...except the long walk was on Tuesday.
Ditto again this week...(23) and slightly longer walk 16-miler yesterday. Actually making it to the gym in a couple of hours. 10 weeks until my first half marathon in Green Bay. Near the end you get to run through Lambeau Field! I'm thinking about scheduling another event after my summer gig in October, maybe in Saint Louis or Los Angeles. I'm getting psyched for training at 8000 ft. elevation this summer. |

I understand the frustration. It's not medication for me but a somewhat low thyroid. The doc doesn't think the medication for that isn't a good fit and somewhat reacts to the blood pressure medication that works great right now, and since the mainly the only outward symptom I have is weight gain...one 3-week period of 'normal' I gained 12 pounds. I had to go a bit more extreme with both. Hopefully you can find a more reasonable alternative. Is your medication long or short term? |

It's a long term medication for mood disorder. I have clinical depression. Without the medication, I get depressed but dang! Being fat makes me depressed too. LOL! |

OFFLINE | Haven't been posting but have been working out. Some nights I go to the gym with my cousin and use the elliptical for 30 minutes, last time it was 40. On the nights I don't go with my cousin, I ride the recumbent bike at home for 30 minutes. Yesterday, I worked out with Tony Horton doing impossibly hard lunges, squats, skater moves, calf raises etc. all created to inflict pain on ones butt, thighs and calves. I also rode the bike 25 minutes yesterday and boy is my backside feeling the pain today! Tonight, if my cousin is going to the gym, I plan on doing 40 minutes on the elliptical if my poor body can take it. |
