OFFLINE | The competition is very intense this year ... at least amongst the guys. WOW !
Here's my guess on the Top Five going through to next week:
Paul McDonald - love his quirky style, unique and a smashing smile !
James Durbin - Wow !, Judas Priest ... really ? Wow = fantatic !
Jacob Lusk - what a treat his voice is ... like butta !
Casey Abrams - another unique which I love, reminds me of Jack Black, sorta !
Scotty McCreery - adorable for 17 and very talented !
OR
Brett Lowenstein - just because I love his soul and spirit ... he should have worn a gown, pearls and heels ... great performance !
What do you all think ? |

OFFLINE | Yep Yep! I agree completely! Lookin forward to the girls tomorrow night.
You know I was totally done with Idol last season. Had watched all of the seasons but the last one was the final straw in suck ass talent and the judges well thats why the talent sucked. Then they had to suck me back in by putting Steven Tyler in the picture. Well I am actually glad they sucked me back in....so far...so good |

OFFLINE | Hi Carol ... and YES, I was totally looking forward to the panel of new judges. AND I've not been disappointed. Love seeing that side of Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez ... I think they've definitely added a positive spin on the show. Of course Randy Jackson is just 'da bomb, awesome as always. The only thing I'm disappointed in is them narrowing that great group of 12 guys down to 5 so soon. There are several who I think will go who are incredibly talented !!! and I want to see more of them.
We shall see .... |

OFFLINE | Let the competition begin !
I've heard a lot of people are upset because this show is recorded and not live. Does that bother you ?

Scotty is one of my favorites ... talented county singer ... crazy, sick baritone vocals ... only 17 ... and seems to be a wonderful young man.

OFFLINE | Well, what did everyone think ?
Personally I think this may be one of the most talented group of finalists ever ... I fear the voting will turn more into a popularity contest than a vote for the most talented as they are now allowing voting online. Certainly it's always been about who can generate the most votes but I see voting via the 'net as an opportunity for some hanky panky. |

OFFLINE | I agree with you about the online voting...don't think that it'll actually show the "true" American Idol. Honestly...I feel the ONLY real American Idol was the first season -- Kelly Clarkson -- who is still going strong and is simply amazing in concert!!!! |

OFFLINE | Kelly Clarkson is awesome.
But we cannot forget Carrie Underwood who has probably had the most success (five CMAs and eight ACMs, as well as four Grammys and a host of others from People's Choice, Billboard, the American Music Awards, Teen Choice, CMT).
AND David Cook is still going strong with his first album going Platinum and second album coming out soon ... being a local boy I see how he's been able to parlay his success into giving back through charity. He's also won several lesser know awards and has several pretty quirky records on the Billboard charts even one that surpasses one set by the Beatles back in '64.
Fantasia has done wonderfully being nominated for 8 Grammy awards and winning 1 this year for best female R&B performance for "Bittersweet"
I think there are many of the contestants who have received a break into the business by participating in American Idol. |

OFFLINE | I totally agree with the results last night ... Ashthon Jones is pretty but did not have near the talent as the rest of the contestants. I believe America got it right. |

OFFLINE | Sticking with my favorite Paul (just because I'm loyal and like that)
DAMN ALL the boys are hot hot hot ... Top Five Six too close to call ...
Paul, Casey, Scotty, Stephano, James, Jacob, Pia, Lauren, Haley, Karen, Thia, Naima ... that's how I call it this week
I think Naima will go, she's lost a step the last couple weeks with Thia and perhaps Karen being in the bottom three, although I liked Karen's performance this week.
We'll see tomorrow night ! |

OFFLINE | I know with online voting, measuring the voting by busy signal is no longer completely accurate - www.dialidol.com
They have the results as :
Lauren
Scotty
Jacob
Bottom three are :

I think they may have got it ass-backwards! I can see Karen bottom 3, but not the others! Top 3.... I'd say those are the middle 3! |
