Well I was very shocked to see Pia go home...unfortunately....Idol has become a "popularity" show now.....not really taking into account the best singers....which is sad.  Sadly... someone loves Paul (I really am annoyed by his screaming ways) -- so he keeps going through to the next round.  I heard a "rumor" that at the end this year that there are only guys left....and that doesn't suprise me either...all those little teeny boppers with unlimited texting are voting TONS for each of those guys.

It's always been a popularity contest ... whomever can generate the most votes wins.  That's why I think they should combine scores of the Judges and fan vote to somewhat balance out who is actually the best talent (sort of like they do on DWTS).

For me, I always choose the person who not only has the best voice but who I can see out there as a star, performing a concert ... the one who has that something special, is likeable and who is entertaining to me.  This year, I saw it right away in Paul ... but I tend to lean towards something different other than a perfect voice ... I like the whole package and HE is entertaining, to me.  Apparently the Judges feel the same way because they always give him high praise.  But then again I like Joe Cocker, Bob Dylan ... who have similar styles.  I can see Paul selling out venues for a concert or as an opening act.  Whereas, to me,  Pia did not have that ... and apparently lots of others felt the same way.

I do not see teeny boppers voting for Paul ... for one, he's older and I doubt he appeals to them as much as say Stefano would.  Nor do I see them voting for James or Casey.  But yet Stefano has been in danger several times.  I see teeny boppers voting for Lauren too as she's their age and that's the only reason I think she is still around.

I would not be surprised to see all guys going through to the final ... that would be right on target based on the contestants left.  Ya know, right now they are ALL good, so every week it is gonna shock someone.  I do not think there is a clear stand out right now who anyone can say for sure is going to take it all.

Anyway ... they do need to re-work the voting system ... however, this time I think America got it right.

Another night of great performances ... it's not good enough to just have a fantastic voice anymore as we saw last week !

Paul kicked it off with a fun performance of "Old Time Rock~n~Roll" doing Bob Seger proud and setting the bar way up there ...

Lauren sang a Hannah Montana song better than Miley (I know) ... she should be safe with a huge tween voting following.

Stefano sang End of The Road, a Boyz to Men favorite of mine  ... and he absolutely "slayed" it ... the night belongs to Stefano !!!

Scotty did a George Strait and was solid as ever ...

Casey ... (((Casey))) ... he's after this Kansas City girl's heart with a Nat King Cole ... so unique, special and wonderful ... I hope everyone "gets" him like I do

Haley did "Call Me" ... not my favorite and it could get her in trouble this week even though I really, really like her.

Jacob Lusk sang "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" ... he was alright but I was not in the mood for a ballad ... and I just can't get over his tsk tsking the viewers last week with his "look in the mirror" comment ... I thought he might be hinting that there's not enough ethnic left in the competition (e's sore over Naima leaving still)  ... I would not be sorry to see him go.

James Durbin ended the night rocking out some Sammy Hagar "Heavy Metal" accompanied by Zakk Wylde (Ozzy guitarist ... which I thought was a bit unethical) ... personally, I did not like it and think it could earn him a spot in the bottom three.

MY bottom three then would be the last three performances Haley, Jacob and James ... with Jacob going home.  However, it could be Paul in the place of James by the American public.

I did not like Haley this week and didn't care for James' song or performance tonight even though I have a daughter who is crazy for him. I thought Casey was just okay tonight and much as I like Scotty because I think he can sing, he's never going to surprise me. Did not like Paul, but I never do -- I don't know why, but there's something about him that really annoys me. I did think Stefano did a great job tonight and I really liked Jacob's rendition of "Bridge Over Troubled Waters." I think the bottom three will be Paul, James, and Haley . . . either Haley or Paul will go home.

I didn't get to watch the elimination show tonight because I have a daughter who watches  Vampire Diaries on Thursdays so thanks for this. I did say Paul or Haley.

Loved Haley and James and Casey and Stefano.

Scotty was good but he needs to break out of the country thing..... he did a great job on the song though (but that song wasn't 21st century..... John Anderson did it a looooong time ago!)

Lauren was good too.....

I'm guessing it will be Jacob or Scotty.

AND THE NIGHT BELONGS TO CASEY !!!   Wow, he did Maroon 5's Harder to Breathe and knocked it out tha ballpark !!!
Haley rocked an Adele song and did wonderfully, I thought ... I really enjoy the edge to her voice, it's very current and different.
Jacob ... GRrrrrrr ... boring ! and not the entertainment quality we are seeing from the other remaining contestants ... he should go.
James Durbin did a Muse song and I personally did not dig it ... he could be in danger.
Lauren did a comfortable song (Sara Evan's Born to Fly) ... did it well ... but nothing to write home about although I think she has a strong vote base and will be safe.
Scotty stayed in his comfort zone with a version of LeAnn Rime's Swingin' ... it was solid but expected ... he should be safe ... I've heard he is the all around #1 vote getter.
Stefano did Closer by Ne-Yo ... he was good and moved about the stage ... he sh/be in bottom 3 compared to other performances.

It's getting down to where everyone is good ... my pick for bottom is Jacob, James and Stefano ... with Jacob going home (I hope I hope) !
