Just a quick fly-by as I've got to head off to airport to pick up peeps for a family shower this weekend.

Watched the DVR'd version of Idol last night pretty late ... nice to be able to speed through the commercials and blah blah.

I think James has forgotten what the competition is about and even though I've said all along it's the whole performance AND the voice, James has been taking it over edge and not in a good way ... Just my opinion ...

Scotty solid and sweet as ever, he should be more than safe ...

Lauren did fine but she could be in trouble because she lacks polish  ...

Haley was devine ... !!!   I am really not happy AT ALL with the way JLo and Randy bashed Haley and hope it does not affect voting because at this point everything they say has impact ... we shall see.  Funny how they doubled back on their criticism right after Haley left the stage and spend the rest of the show sort of trying to make up for it.  We'll see what the effect of their harshness is tonight.

Oh and much to my surprise, I thought Lady GaGa gave great mentoring advice ! (Not a fan)

At this point the only shock to me would be if Scotty goes ...

Haley's been my favorite from the beginning..... my opinion did not change last night.

The judges want James and lauren for the final two.... that's pretty clear.

I hope Haley takes it all the way! She's refreshing.... differnent! And cute as hell!

Well have to admit that I was SURPRISED that James went home....I think it should have been Scotty -- both the girls have proven that they should be in the top three -- oh well.....just happy that I got my hubby tickets to Idol on Tour....and our city has the LAST show on the tour...so hoping that they get an extra special performance by the artists

Honestly, I think Randy and JLO lost it for James. They were gushing over him every night, even the one night that he was soooo bad (oh, it's emotional.... blah blah blah)

And it went to his head.... they told him it was his to win so many times..... he thought he was a shoe-in.

I agree somewhat that the judges can influence voting to a certain extent.  They've praised Scotty all the way through just like James AND Scotty certainly got VIP treatment early on when he was ALWAYS the first to be saved, like it was a foregone conclusion.  And he's still standing.  

I absolutely did not care for how Randy and JLo gave positive praise to EVERYONE this week except Haley until she came out and blew the competition away, AGAIN.  And they spend the rest of the show back-peddling their harshness.  Good for Steven Tyler for staying true to self and openly disagreeing with them ... love me some ST !!!  (His new video kicked some serious arse too ... what a wild trip that was !!!)

Another thought is that the Jacob (Naima / Thia / Pia) votes had to go somewhere ... and I'd imagine they were split between Haley and Lauren ... which does not bother me a bit.  I am perfectly satisfied with this final three.  Sure I would have liked to see Casey and Paul still be in there just because I like their vibe ... but this works for me too.  

It's anyone's to go out there and TAKE !!!

      I've been saying ... it's The Country Vote that's keeping Scotty in the race.... from all those small towns....  & Lauren is Country as well... I remember my X Brother in Law taking a sledge hammer to a radio in a auto body shop I owned because they weren't playing Country Music on it. Yep... he is one of my Facebook friends... And it's also down to the last two on the Celebrity Apprentice... and One happens to be a Country Star.... John Rich...  So that's two for the Country Vote.... still standing...

Based on tonight's performances ... here's my ranking :

HALEY
SCOTTY
LAUREN

Haley really, really stepped it up and rocked it hard ! ... she chose and was assigned the most difficult songs of all the contestants and she nailed each and everyone of them !   I mean who sings Led Zeppelin ?  and gets to have their Dad play guitar to accompany ?   If this was the final, there would be no question in my mind ... I hope too that she picks up the James Durbin rocker votes.

Scotty was Mr. solid as usual but his songs where pretty easy ... he's such a pleasure to watch ... and listen to ... I just think he's a great kid and wonderful performer ... and I do not even like country.

Lauren's nerves really showed tonight ... even with the judges giving her the gift of the easiest song "I Hope You Dance" ... she messed up lyrics and got lost a few times ... I think she'll share votes with Scotty.
