I didn't like Bergman's films when i was younger simply because I didn't understood them. Most of his films are based on different constellations in relationship between people. It's everything from love relations (Scenes from a marriage), mother/daughter (Autumn Sonata), father and son (Fanny and Alexander) and rather brutal story like The Virgin Spring, which require some kind of life experiance.

He has a deep without being too complicated in the dialouge, even if it might seems like that at first sight. One of his strenght was that he always managed to gather the absolut best ensemble of actors who was active by the time he was most productive. I  don't know if he formed them to what they were because of that he was a talanted director or if the education within this profession was uncommon exceptional in the 40's, 50's and 60's because Swedish actors sucks today. Denmark is the country which rule the Nordic Film Industry today.

I can recommend though; Smultronstället (Wild Strawberries), Fanny och Alexander. Start with these two and see if you like them or not. If you like them, you will go on with the rest of his productions.

The stor in Fanny and Alexander is based on his own childhood and his relationship to his father wich in the film has the character of the Bishop...

This is one of my favourite scenes from Fanny and Alexander. Those two men's (Carl and Gustav Adolf) brother (Oscar) has just recently passed away and left a wife and two children behind. The widow is remarried with this Bishop (Edvard) who turns into satan himself after the marriage. He hold Emilie and her two children totally isolated from the rest of the family in this horrible vicarage and these two are there to make the Edvard give up the marriage with Emily fter that they have managed to rescue the kids.

Oscar's death scene...

I **** love this movie...

So am I certifiably insane for aspiring to be the first owner of a restaurant that has both farting/non-farting sections?

The best part about going for a walk around the park with headphones in your ear late at night is getting awkward stares by the potheads, potential car thieves, drug dealers, public masturbators, etc. who wonder if you're a cop. That said, it's no wonder I keep head shaved and a noticeable goat tee on my face..
