OFFLINE | Good morning and happy Saturday everyone!
Well so far it looks sunny out so I will try and get some errands done before the next snow comes by this afternoon.
The snow though that's coming is supposed to be just flurries. Lord knows we have way too much already piled up on the sidewalks & streets.
I also heard from my daughter Iris last night and after a heart to heart talk which was very emotional on her end I am letting her come back home.
Problem now is who to get to bring her back because of this snow, many people are opting NOT to move their cars out.
I just hope I don't wind up regretting letting her come back home but then again I'm not a monster. She seemed very sincere about what she's learned and what she plans to do so we'll see.....
Anyway I do need to get going so just want to wish you all a good day!
Hugs

OFFLINE | Good morning Sylvia...and sorry to hear that you may be getting more snow....I think they're calling for snowflakes here for the next 7 days...oh well...it IS winter...but we're one day closer to February -- the shortest month of the year!! I always get excited when we get to February...makes me feel like winter is almost behind us!
Good luck to you on getting Iris home....I just hope she does do what she said to you via phone. My suggestion would be to sit down today at some point and type up a "commitment letter" that both you and she sign. That way...she's agreed to do whatever it is she told you she would do. If she doesn't....the agreement could say that she'll have 30 days to find appropriate housing.....and then she'll have to move out. It would be a way to continue that TOUGH love...which I truly thinks that she needs. |

 OFFLINE | Morning all!
Looks like it's going to be a great, sunny day in da Burg. And I hope yours is just as great.
Here locally, it's Gasparilla weekend. We've got beads for everybody who comes down to the invasion.

OFFLINE | Good Morning everyone.... gotta admit, it isn't starting out so great.
Oh well.
The trailer is finally done.... between towing and repair..... $700! And the bill came in for pruning our fruit trees.... $1100! And the propane tank had to be filled.... $900.... it's been am expensive month....
I wrote a whole lot more and then promptly erased it. felt better just putting it down, no sense putting my troubles out there to the world!
I want some beads! I wanna be a wench! Guess I'll have to get down to the Burg! lol
Sylvia, good luck with Iris! I'm sure everything will work out.... just be strong!
Mary, I hate February!! We have our worst weather in February..... and because it's been SO nice, I have a feeling it's going to come in with a vengeance! Which is one of the reasons I usually got to Texas in February!
John, I have found that any reason is a good reason for a road trip!
Sam is doing much better. She is back to her perky "old" self. It's like she heard us talking about having to put her down and decided she wasn't ready!
Hope y'all have a great day!

OFFLINE | Good Sunday morning everyone!
Well yesterday was a very busy day for me since it did NOT snow I took advantage and did my errands but had to stay within my neighborhood because there was way TOO much snow to push my little cart through.
Everything was in excessive trips since I had to carry bags then came home to thoroughly clean the apartment including doing the laundry.
Today have a couple of more things to do then hopefully I can relax for the later part of the day.
Thanks ladies for the well wishes regarding Iris and Mary, no I'm not doing that letter.
I think talking to her should be enough. She's not a bad kid. Just a lazy kid and needed that "wake up" call when she moved out. She sounded remorseful and I think she will come home with a better outlook.
At least I hope so.
Anyway her father is trying to see if he can get one of his friends to bring her back home so still don't know when that will be.
I hate to say this.... but I actually liked living alone. Does that make me a bad person for thinking that?
Anyway hope you all have a good day ahead.

 OFFLINE | Good Morning everyone!
(yes, I'm in a much better moo! I've decided to just lwet some things go.... it's much easier!)
Sylvia.... you are not a bad person for liking to live alone! Sometimes I miss those days! The 5 years between Sam's death and my marriage to Ralph were hard.... but I started to treasure my "freedom"..... being able to do whatever you want, when you want, how you want....
In fact, that's really what started my issues with Ralph.... I tend to conform- do everything his way.... and well, if I want to eat a damn cream puff I'm going to! (So I did. Two in fact! Then I ate 2 cupcakes. Just because! And this morning I am going to fry potatoes!)
Amazing how the little things can make you feel so much better!
Yesterday Ralph was talking about going fishing today. This morning he decided against it. whatever. I'm learning not to look forward to anything til it happens.
We did go out yesterday afternoon and walk the flats.... felt good to get out, enjoy some nature.
Sam continues to improve. She's not ready to die, that's for sure!
Have a great day everyone!

OFFLINE | You're right Jann about the freedom.
And I'm glad to hear Sam is doing much better.
I guess you and Ralph are still "adjusting" to each other's ways huh? Can't be easy on you. |

 OFFLINE | Good morning!
It's just another manic Monday! Bleh!
Hope everyone has a good day and please be careful if you're living in one of the areas that's going to get slammed with ice / snow mix.
I am so freaking sick of this weather already.
Hugs to you all! |
