OFFLINE | Good afternoon everyone.....finished shoveling my driveway and did the neighbor's driveway 3/4 of the way down -- only to see a plow come and do the rest....gotta make sure that they are "honest" and say they only plowed 3/4 and it took like 3 minutes!!! We were lucky...only had like 4 inches of snow...then probably two or three inches of sleet on top of that....so I guess it could have been worse (according to the weathermen...it went NORTH...up to Canada!!!).
Becky....wow be careful with that ice...I still remember the ice storm the year that my daughter was born...it started on March 5th..and I had my daughter on March 12th...I saved ALL the newspapers...so she would know how exciting it was around her birthday!!! Hopefully you guys stay warm...and don't have to go out!!
Susan...glad to hear that all is well with you -- and that your new grandbaby is coming so quickly!! Hope you stay warm there....I know that's cold for you...and we're supposed to get to 21 today...lol!!
Scott....are you a day late and a dollar short AGAIN?!! Goodness...we need to buy you one of those pocket calendars...for sure!!
Bob...I hate to burst your bubble...or would that be Phil's bubble.....unfortunately he's an employee of the government....so we KNOW he doesn't do his job correctly. The only thing that I use is my calendar...and even then....the day that says First Day of Spring usually has cold weather and snow around here!! I sure hope that Phil's right...but I'm sure NOT counting on it!! LOL

FWIW, I've got a FB buddy who's a fellow propellerhead ... and a PhD.
To your point, he posted an analysis of Phil's predictions and discovered they're wrong more often than right ... a coin toss would be a better predictor.
(Grumbling stuff about the government under my breath) |

I guess I was so busy at work...didn't notice the time...ahaha! Always time for play on the computer...
I talked to Amy on Monday...she is super busy at work...but when isn't she? I sure wish she would get her PC fixed and join us on here...
Scott go fix it, will ya?
Not much new on my end...it's a beautiful day here in California...I feel so sorry for the people back east...and I'm sitting here in 70 degree weather and they are shoveling snow! Crazy...huh?
Well, back to work...actually I am busy!
Have a Great day! |

 OFFLINE | Good morning everyone!
Sorry I haven't been around much, just lurking a little in the morning and a little at night.
Just been in a foul mood. Really tired of this weather already. It's so stressful getting in to work under some bad weather conditions.
Yesterday's ice was hazardous for all. People walking or driving!!
I went from my front steps directly into the street and walked through the slush to get to the train station because the sidewalks were literally a skating rink.
Now they're forecasting yet ANOTHER storm for this Saturday.
This has put so many of us in foul or depressed moods.
As for my daughter, no she hasn't come back home yet. With this bad weather no one wants to take their car out and risk it.
So she's going to have to suck it up until transportation can be arranged.
Anyway folks, you all take care and those dealing with blizzard conditions, ice storms etc.... be safe!!
Hugs to you all!! |

 OFFLINE | Afternoon!
Took the boat out fishing today- had a blast! It was cold though! Nice when the boat was sitting (we had 3 layers of clothing!) but chilly when you were moving (especially your hands which are uncovered!)
Only one fish, but oh well!

OFFLINE | Good Happy Friday Morning everyone....
Sylvia I feel your pain.. hopeing this awful winter ends soon. We are slated to get Saturdays storm too, and they are now talking about the possibility of yet another major storm hitting us on Thurs. which will probably be for your area too. Seems we've been sharing storms this year, which in itself is rare.
Yaaayyy Jann, so glad you 2 were finally able to get out and enjoy yourselves with some fishing. Now, do you eat what you catch? Or is it more for sport?
Hoping everyone has a great weekend!!! |

Hi Tonya! We caught a dozen fish that we had to throw back (you can't keep fish under 17 inches or between 20 and 24 inches). Only on e keeper (19 inches), so we threw that back to....
The motor didn't run quite like it should, so we're taking it in to Reno tomorrow...
today is just kind of a kick back day. Our cleaning lady came in today so we went out to breakfast and did a little shopping... we're replacing our blinds a little at a time- they are so expensive! The new blinds are "honeycomb",,, they are supposed to keep out cold and light. We put one up downstairs at the cabin.... bought one for our bedroom here in Fallon.
Anyhow.... I'm ready for a nap.... so .....
Have a great one! |

OFFLINE | Good morning all.... and happy weekend to everyone!!! About to head out to a brunch with friends (I made a fruit bowl to bring)....so it will be nice to catch up on everyone's news. Got a letter from my daughter's college that she made the Dean's List with honors (as she got a 3.79 gpa) -- so I'm sending in her information to our local newspaper (she'll probably be mad at me....but I believe she deserves the recognition!!)
Rebekah...hope that you and Bryan have a wonderful weekend yourself.....and that you're staying warm!!
Jann....Glad to hear that you got out fishing...although the catching wasn't too much (hope you don't catch a cold!)
Scott... you've been quiet recently...I'm thinking that you're "up to something" -- trying to figure out just what that is
Susan...I laughed when I read your post....my sister says the same thing...and when she visited during winter last winter...she complained about the cold (and it was actually WARMER that week than it normally is) -- she wonders HOW we handle it.. LOL Hope that you enjoy your "warm up"...and that everyone is doing well in your family!
Barbara...have fun at the flea market today...I KNOW you enjoy that.....so forget about work...for a couple days..and enjoy!!
Tonya....Do you get any days off?? Seems like you're always working!!! I laughed at the posts from Austin...he's such a great kid...but I'm sure he was tired after the "dig out"!
Sylvia....glad to hear that Iris got home (I know what you mean about the "mess".....I have that EVERY DAY here...I just shut my son's door and ignore it now!). Hope that you're able to get to your errands tomorrow. Stay warm!!! |
