Yeah Susan it's pretty gross to deal with. I've never had to deal with this before but ever since Iris brought Yope home it's been one issue after another.
Tapeworms can come from fleas and or killing mice.
Strange thing is that I haven't seen mice in at least 4 months which is when Yope or Toby killed a couple and both have been treated with flea med since Yope was treated for the very same thing back in October.
Total cost today was $117.00 and that's not including the cost of cab fare round trip.
Now I have to give both of these cats the powder for 5 days then toss out the litter, wash down the litter box and replace the litter.
Then repeat this crap again in 3 weeks.
I have to sweep everyday and if possible pass a damp mop as well.
Wash all bedding by end of the 5th day of treatment but in the mean time try to dust off all bedding and furniture.
Now I ask you..... do I really need this ****?
These 2 cats were brought in by Iris and she's chilling at her friend's place while I paying for all of this and dealing with all of this.
I am seriously considering getting rid of 1 or possibly both by the time all this medication is over and done with.
Really have had enough already.
The online source that Mark uses.... would that be 1 800 PetMeds? Supposedly they carry the same stuff Vets do but at a much lower cost and they offer free shipping as well.

OFFLINE | Well ... sounds like everybody had issues yesterday. Sylvia, I am so sorry to hear about all you have to do with the cats. I can imagine it is not making you all warm and fuzzy inside.... Hope it gets better for you...

OFFLINE | Good morning everyone...and YIKES...it certainly sounds like everyone had a rough day yesterday  Sorry to hear what happened with you and your boat Jann -- but thankfully you weren't out in the MIDDLE of the lake!!! Susan... my sister in law (who has 7 cats) always uses a product called "Nature's Miracle"....it's in a white bottle with red writing. They sell it at our local grocery store....if not, pet stores would have it. Once a cat starts doing that....you have two choices....either separate them...and put them in a small room with just a litter box and their food or let them be an "outdoor" cat. It sure does seem like it's more wanting attention...that's for sure! Sylvia....man...you sure have had your time of it with Yope and Toby. I'm sure that Iris didn't like hearing that....but...it was necessary. Waving hi to Tonya...and happy hump day...for sure! Scott....you're always such a naughty boy...do you like that?!! |

Well, lets hope today is a better day than yesterday...What was it VooDoo Tuesday?
So, I called my Mom yesterday to ask her if she would come down to help out with my Uncle (her brother) after his surgery....her answer was...well, it depends on the weather....
Hmmmmm, not the answer I was looking for...
How 'bout YES...since your working I know you can't do it all!!!!!! Damn!
Oven fixed...we found a element (after all day searching) and it's now working again...Whew! didn't want to buy a new oven right now!

Sylvia, I've had lots of dogs and cats, but I've never had to deal with tapeworm.... ugh!!! Animals are great, full of love.... but I sure hope we take a break from pet ownership when we lose Sam. Lately she's been a lot of work.... we have to pick her up to get her in the truck.... and she's a BIG dog! And the last couple of days she's been having trouble walking....
Barb.... the weather has been beautiful and according to the weatherman it's going to stay beautiful. Your mom needs to be there to help! (And while she's there, why don't you come here???? :-D )

For about 30 minutes, it looked like hurricane season. I could hear things crashing around on the deck. And I called my kids to make sure they were OK. They were out driving around and had to pull off the road.
