Hi Scott, Hope you have heard something from your son since your last post.  I know we worry when we don't hear from them, but they are in great hands.  We received a letter a couple days ago, and they have a lot of p.t. coming up.  I am going to put some power bars in the mail (at Matt's request)!  Tomorrow will be the first Easter Matt has not been with us and Iam getting a little sad about that but I guess we need to get used to them being gone on holidays.  Everybody have a safe and blessed weekend.  Lorenn

Hey Lorenn! Power Bars are an awesome idea!!! we sent my husband 2 big boxes to his platoon as a little birthday gift back in march! He said they were a lifesaver!! Just think- 1 more week of test and evals, then 1 week with the crucible, then its MARINE week!!!!!!!

SHARON- You can send your son a package even though they say not too. I recently sent my fiance snickers, butterfingers, cookies, beef jerky, &  power bars he just wasnt allowed to eat the snickers and butterfingers

Hi Everybody, We went to Costco and picked up a 48 pack of snickers and some jolly ranchers, he asked for snickers in one of his first letters for a movie they will be watching soon.  He said they all will split whatever we send. My sister sent a box of 80 homemade cookies. This was before he asked for the power bars.  I am hoping to pick up a case and send priority on Monday.  I don't really like power bars, does anybody know a brand that taste good and is good for them?

The variety pack is perfect and then again one flavor is good too, I don't think any of the recruit would be picky. I sent a variety of different nutritional bars and the wild game jerky to my son for sharing which he shared he said who ever wanted some loved it. Mine never asked for candy and said the MER they had came with candy and they had to take the candy out. They asked for more Jery buyt I don't think there's enough time for me because I make the wild game ferky. Prayers are sent to all our recruits.

Just got the mail and got 1 letter short, but a good one. They had the MCMAP finals and CFT finals thursdayit looks like.

That's so nice to hear that you have all been sending things.  Vera glad you received a letter today, and I bet they loved that home made jerky!

Well I figured acknowledging his birthday and attempting to make it a little better than the rest would be a nice thing to do. He has been very interested in what is going on at home, so I was hoping to help him feel a little normalcy on his day I also got a birthday card that records your voice and i sent him a little message, which he reallllly enjoyed! Has anyone heard of any calls yet? I was thinking it was going to be this week because Charlie company did their calls last week, but no such luck

Yeah! received a call from my son today! It was so great to hear his voice got to talk to him for 5 minutes what a Easter!!!! Hope everybody received the same!

WHAT?? you did?? what the whole platoon calling their families? I havent received a call yet, but you stating that you received one is getting me realllly excited! Hopefully i get one soon! Did he call earlier in the day or in the evening?

I got a PHONE CALL too from my fiance!! Definitely made this an amazing Easter!! I miss him even more now luckily we only have about 2 1/2 weeks left to go!!
