My son is in this platoon and they are in Phase 3!!  Bought my airline tickets already and can't wait to see him.

Hello All, I was fortunate enough to get a telephone call from my son Matthew last Sunday.  It was so nice to hear his voice, he sounded different though more mature I suppose.    Our letters have also slowed down, we have not received anything in about a week.  25 days and counting down!

Hi Danielle,  Yes, a couple weeks ago Matt wrote to me and said he earned a phone call home and a cheeseburger.  I didn't want to get my hopes up however 9 days ago, Sunday, April 10th he called!  The phone call was limited to 10 minutes, and I heard a lot of yelling in the background.  I know I am very, very, blessed to have heard from him and I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers that you receive a phone call soon.

How awesome!!! good for him!! Im sure that cheeseburger was heaven for him! Will he be able to call you again when the rest of the recruits call home? I was looking at posts from Charlie Co and they received their calls all last week. So if they are graduating a week before us then maybe we get our calls this week? I sure hope so 24 days to go!

Loreen- We did receive the pamphlet, We were told it was going to be a package by our recruiter so we were a little confused. We had made previous reservations but cancelled when we seen how much the Marine Corps travel agency saved us on hotel rooms. Thanks for asking and congratulations on that phone call, it had to be extremely exciting! We have a group of 12 going to San Diego ready to meet Fox Co and family. God Bless the USMC!!

Hi Sharon, Yes we had not heard from Matthew for about 1 1/2 weeks, until yesterday.  Until then he said he hadn't even had time to read a couple letters from us.  ( I just noticed you posted no letters a few days ago, did you receive anything yet?)  I know the anticipation of going to the mailbox and praying to get a letter!  Where are you from Sharon?  What is your son's name?  Best Regards, Lorenn

Yea, my letters from my husband come about once a week. I received one today and it was A LOT shorter than normal and his handwriting was more messy and looked rushed. I dont think im going to be expecting any more letters in the next few weeks.

Hi Loren I am from Oak lawn Illinois and my sons name is Scott,  I used to receive a lot of them and now nothing I just want something  letting me know he is ok but I'm sure he is its just hard to not hear from him at all! I know they are very busy right now so I guess I just have to bare it! Have a great day! Thanks again for your responses it really helps!
