The scene where the old grandpa is hitting that chick in the head with a hammer is so **** classic.

Eh, I just felt like a change... It's still relatively long though, about an inch above the shoulders. |

I just introduced my nephew to the original Chainsaw, he sat there quiet for a few minutes before saying "That was really disturbing Aunt Cari" and he ranks it scarier than the remake (which he loves and saw first). I noticed that so much of what I thought was in there was just implied, yet Payne who grew up with top notch fx in his movies didn't even notice how little blood is shown. It's a masterpiece in it's original form. The remake had to rely on those fx to try to evoke the same kind of unsettling feeling. As much as I hate most remakes, I did enjoy watching TCM remake, it didn't ruin the story, but it doesn't compare to the original IMO. |

Very well said. Further you'll find that the reason the original works so much better even without all the gratuitous gore the remake, as well as so many contemporary horror flicks rely on these days is because back then the cinematography alone lent a much more rawer, ominous and at times 'otherworldly' atmosphere. You see it even more in a lot of the Italian splatter flicks of the 70's and early 80's too. Yeah, it's not the most professional but that lack of professionalism ironically contributes a much more nightmarish feel. Now that contemporary films are so polished with that digitalized technology w/ actors that look like they came out of a GAP ad, I can't even sit through an entire horror movie anymore. They're just not believable anymore. |

I can see it now, the 13thers fighting the 12ers. Massive societal disruptions. Violence pitting one group against another...moving to a new country that promotes Astrology freedom to practice what you want to believe. Massive arguments for the seperation of Astrology and state. And the far right saying that the Founding Astrologists were 12ers, and the commie, pinko, weirdo, socialistic, marxist, no birth certificaters, 13ers are leading to the downfall of America. When astrology is outlawed, only outlaws will have astrology |

I hate that in most new "horror" or "suspense" movies, said Gap fags always drive a badass muscle car, and they don't even blink when the car gets trashed. In reality, they would never drive such a car because as soon as a bolt came loose they wouldn't know how to fix it. |

OFFLINE | This has got to be one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen.
"Let's steal their truck and try to drive it up a ridiculous hill instead of on the road that got us here, then when it gets stuck, make sure and leave the lights on so the mountain men can find us because it's gonna be dark soon. "
It's also funny that the mountain men aren't intelligent enough to talk, yet they can drive a stick.
I was so glad when the **** in the blue top got killed. Her stupidity and bad acting are annoying.
