Yes.No matter how much I listen to it....it just won't grow on me.
Black lake nidstång was kind of a let down for me.I still enjoyed the song but it wasn't as epic as I was hoping it would be.
From what I had heard my expectations were low. I liked the new album a lot more than I thought I would but it is rather disappointing considering the albums that came before it.
Ghosts of the Midwinter Fires is still an amazing song though. The album has its highlights for sure despite the mostly underwhelming segments that plague most of the album. |

Thank you! I was hoping I wasn't the only person that felt this way for I know how some people tend to dry hump this band religiously. Hence I was beginning to think I was about to step on some toes by saying how lackluster the new one is. In my opinion, I think they overdid it with the juxtaposition of all these non-metal influences so as to erase any affiliation or identity with the 'metalhead' scene in general. Granted I can respect the more 'mature' approach and I'm therefore consider myself fairly open minded to other musical avenues but in this case, it just all came across as totally 'forced' if that makes any sense. |

If you ask me, the best CD they ever put out and which remains to be surpassed happens to be The Mantle. That said, they probably should have called it a day after that one and perhaps formed under a different moniker to do all the crazy stuff they've aspired to these days so as not to tarnish the band's legacy. |

Yeah, I admit the control scheme is a bit annoying and further some of the weapon items they provide you with are kinda unnecessary seeing as to how the developers didn't make them as intrinsic to the storyline as they could have. Nevertheless it's not as frustrating to me as other games I've played as far as controls are concerned and further the story is far too engaging and suspenseful to simply not follow through to the end. I'm hooked basically! Though I will say this much, after this installment in the series I don't think another Assassin's Creed is required. |

I don't know, Ashes Against the Grain was a very influential album in my life. I like the non metal influence but it seemed like they lost what they had on Ashes and *tried* making the new one more metal than it had to be and lost a lot of the melodic and atmospheric properties that made Ashes so good. |
