'180' update

The southern stud Siddarth is arriving with his new movie 180 and here are few interesting details. The film has been shot entirely using a Red One Camera, used for Rakta Charitra. Also, one song has been shot using a Phantom HD camera which has the capacity to shoot upto 2500 frames per second. The color grading for the film is being done by Kevin Shaw, the international expert from London. Currently, the dubbing phase is on and Sidz is busy with that.

Siddharth returns to Tamil cinema with 180

Sathyam Cinemas and Aghal Films have jointly produced 180, a film
directed by ad filmmaker Jayedra who debuts as a film director. The
film marks the return of Siddharth to the Tamil screen after a gap of
seven years, post Boys and Ayutha Ezhuthu.

180's  first look and teasers were screened for the press at a meet at
Sathyam Cinemas this morning, followed by an interaction with the
cast and crew.

The film has music by Sharat who has many Malayalam films to his
credit. The camera is by PC Sreeram's associate Balasubramaniam.
The film has two heroines, PriyaAnand and Nithya Menen, and both
were present for the media meet.

Speaking at the event Siddharth said : "I am very happy to return to
the Tamil screen, especially with Jayendra who knows me since I was a
kid. Its destiny since I have learnt everything I know about a film's
technicalities and the camera from him and PC Sreeram and now life has
come a full circle, since I am returning to Tamil cinema thanks to him".

Siddharth added that 180 is a visual delight and the songs are
incredibly shot. Says Siddharth: "In Telugu, since the audiences know
me well there,  it will be known as a Siddharth film and in Tamil, it
will be called a director's film with me just being an actor in it."

Siddharth who is a big name in the Telugu industry, denied reports
that he is keen to work only with big names in Tamil.  Says the
actor: "In Telugu I have worked with 8 new directors out of the 14 films
I have done so far in my career. This is my 9th film with a new
director. It's just that I have not got any exciting offers from the
Tamil industry and people assume that since I have worked with Shankar
and Mani Ratnam I will work only with big names. that's not true."

This is Nithya's  second movie in Tamil post Veppam which is not
released yet. The colorist of the film, Kevin, one of the best in the
world in his field, came all the way from UK for the event.

A song and some teasers were screened for the select audiences. Speaking
about his debut Jayendra said, "I think I can enter the Guinness book
for being the oldest director to debut. But it's all due to Mani
Ratnam who pushed me into it saying if you don't do it now when you
will do it. So all the merits and discredits will go to him only! The
film is a visual delight and we have used a Phantom and Red One camera
for it. The cast has given a stupendous performance. It’s not just any
triangular love story, but goes beyond it."

The audio launch of the film is to be held on April 14th.

180 uses Phantom Flex camera

Tollywood seems to be innovating itself and trying creative technology quite often now. Even as every film maker now is trying to use Red camera to shoot their films, Jayendran the ad film maker turned directed who is directing Siddarth's 180 is believed to have used 'Phantom Flex camera'.Apparently it is a high speed digital camera.

This camera can capture micro second expressions and show it in slow motion. Jumping, eating and other mundane stuff is picturised fabulously by this camera.

180 was shot with Red camera but for one special song, Phantom Flex camera was used. The first look of this triangular love story is out and has earned rave reviews for its technical brilliance. The audio of this movie will be launched on April 12th in Hyderabad.

This film also marks the re-entry of Siddharth into Tamil after six long years. He shot for this movie both in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. The movie will hit the screens at the end of April or first week of May.

Siddharth happy with ‘180’

CHENNAI: Most of the Telugu remakes of Siddharth’s movies are a big hit in Chennai. But the actor did not welcome any of the Tamil movie offerings since ‘Ayudha Ezhuthu’. However, after a seven-year break, Chennai boy chimes his comeback to the Tamil film Industry with ‘180’. The movie was introduced to the media on Thursday at Sathyam Cinemas, where Siddharth shared his joy about his return.

“I’m really happy to be back in Chennai and Kollywood. It took me seven years to find an interesting script and that was one of the reason for my disappearance,” he said and added, “There is also a misconception that I will work with only big directors, which is not true. I didn’t even meet director Shankar sir or Mani (Ratnam) sir for a long time Moreover, I’ve introduced eight new directors in Telugu and with Jayendra, it is nine.”

In the new Tamil movie, '180', which is directed by debut Jayendra, he pairs up with Priya Anand and Nithya Menon. “It goes beyond the usual love stories that we’ve seen so far and the movie has come out good. Jayendra knows me from my childhood and has directed number of advertisements. I learnt the art of movies from him and I’m happy to act in his debut movie,” he said.

The story and screenplay have been written by Suresh and Bala, the duo writers popularly known as Subha and the entire movie has been shot in the Red Camera. Sharreth who hails from Mollywood has scored music and the audio release will be on April 14.
