I've been with guys that were romantic, but turned out to be cheating cheaters, and then I was  married to a guy that was faithful, but not romantic, but still made the effort to get me a card on Valentines Day.

Then I was with a guy that was romantic on occasion, but warned me ahead of time not to expect anything on Valentines Day.  I thought I was okay with that, it seemed all logical, but when Valentines Day came and went without anything acknowledged, it hurt and felt wrong.  When I told him that I would like to exchange cards, or have a romantic dinner, or something...he refused.  So basically, my feelings didn't matter to him....and it turned out that this was true in many other areas of our relationship. I hope he finds a woman that can share his point of view, because it wasn't me.

Now I'm with a romantic guy that spoils me rotten and we express our love for each other in some way every day.  We both enjoy making it a point to spoil each other just a little bit more on Valentines Day...and he knows that makes me happy...and when I'm happy, life is so much nicer for him!

It's not about the cards, the flowers, the candy, the sentiment...it's about LOVE.  To feel completely in love with someone (be it your significant other, children, grandchildren, or friends) makes your life feel more complete.  I don't think ONE day on the calendar is any MORE important than the other 364 days to appreciate and TELL those that you love that you DO appreciate them!!  The only thing that would make my VD better would be to NOT have to work tonight..and watch all the guys (with wide eyes...looking like a deer staring at headlights) trying to "figure out" what to get their special person.  I so want to speak up and tell them to just go home...give them the biggest hug ever and tell them that they matter in your life...and you don't know what you'd do without them!

I got flowers, and a funny poem. He had my truck serviced and took me out to lunch. And when we got home he put his arms around me and said "you know, I really do love you" That meant more than anything else!

Bryan & I spent the day together at the zoo. The weather was beautiful! Then we went out to dinner and when we got home he surprised me with this beautiful poem!

My Beautiful Becky

My beautiful Becky, with eyes so blue
Mesmerizing, and loving too
You have my heart for all of time
My love for you is so alive

Holding you tight, as we slowly dance
Makes my soul feel true romance
The way you look up into my eyes
Melts my heart, and makes me sigh

I love you forever, and you know that it's true
I love who you are, and the things that you do
So I say to you now, as I have from the start
Becky I love you with all of my heart.

This truelly made my day special!  Then again, just being with Bryan makes my day special!

My son left me a card and roses in a vase on my front porch yesterday morning, then got worried sick when a huge storm blew through the area before I could get home.  Luckily, my boyfriend saw the roses when he got home from shopping....for an identical bunch of roses...and brought them safely inside. So, I had double the roses yesterday!  (And of course I had given my guys something nice also)

My boyfriend had cleaned the house spotless..nice!...and suggested we go out for mexican food.  I offered to pay...with the money my ex had paid me to do his taxes...but that offer was soundly rejected for being too unromantic!  LOL The first place we tried had a line of people out the door, but the next place sat us right away in the bar, in a romantic corner....next to the big screen playing an old Mariners game...which he liked..."Hello...I'm sitting over here, Mister!"  The bartender kept putting love songs on the jukebox, and that was nice.  Of course, we ate too much and were both so full that we couldn't wait to get home and get our pants off....so we could jump into bed and watch tv until we passed out.

So...a perfect day!
