I just finished "Hell's Belles" by Paul Magrs. It was an impulse grab from the library, and it was a mistake
I'm hoping to compensate for that tomorrow with a more timely choice...

Just finished the 2009 The Best American Short Stories.  Took me a while b/c of school, but after finishing I absolutely loved "Hurricanes Anonymous" by Adam Johnson about the aftermath of hurricane Katrina through the eyes of the soulful, new father Nonc whose young son has been dropped off unexpectedly in his UPS truck.

now tomorrow, i'll tackle either the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo or The Tin Drum.  Can I get a "Oooh, that one" from anyone?

I'm reading several and none at the same time I started
The Enlightenment and Captain Cook also LOTR and I just bought The Silmarillion, the road and the reader, I've read a few pages of each,
it's sad really. It's a time thing, I don't manage it, it manages me.

Fhaedrea, I saw one of those books at wal-mart the other (girl with dragon tattoo) and wondered...are they any good?

oh I'm not reading anything to nifty right now, i can't remember the author's name. (awful) but it's bridget jones' diary: the edge of reason.

I do enjoy a good laugh

Hi Charlotte...I almost missed this. I've only read the first one so far. And, yes, I would say it was quite good. Not so humourous, but it's a story well told, in my opinion. I have the second one as well and I will read it but maybe not right away. I have a stack of unread books and enjoy a great variety. I might read the biography of Mark Twain next. We'll see.. =;-)

Seen any of the movies [Dragon Tattoo, I mean]?

A review book ostensibly written by 'Sam Fisher' of video game fame.  It's quite astoundingly awful.

I wasn't going to read the second Stieg Larsson thing, The Girl Who Played With Fire, because I just finished the first one...BUT, then I was sitting quietly sipping my coffee in the dim light and I picked it up [because there it was beside my chair at the top of the stack of unreads] and read the reviews and...

...here we go again. I guess it's thriller/murder/deep secrets within characters month. *shrugs.

Sorry, Mr. Winchester. Your biography on the Atlantic Ocean will keep. =;-)
