OFFLINE | A person in management feeling the need to say something like "If I give an instruction, then that IS the instruction. I'm the assistant manager, ME, and my instructions are to be followed!" When a situation gets to this point, it typically means that there are much greater issues than the trivial issue at hand, and possibly that particular manager isn't actually favorably suited for management. It's been my experience that the best of leaders don't need to rely on administrative authority; they generally genuinely command respect by more authentic means. |

OFFLINE | Driving to work this morning....watching a seagull take aim at my car...and not being able to avoid his flying poop. That kind of ended up being a metaphor for the rest of the day...and yes....very annoying! |

OFFLINE | Getting home ... late ... pulling up to the house, it's VERY dark ... this huge heating and air vehicle with an even larger trailer is parked right in front of my house ... what the heck ? ... I pull in my drive ... blind as a bat ... walk around the car down the drive to the mailbox ... have to navigate the huge truck ... the large piles of dirty snow / ice from the snow plows ... BOOM ... down I go ... #$%^&*()*&^%$#%^&*()_ !!! |
