OFFLINE | On Thursday I was told by Transform that I have PIP implants. I then received a call yesterday from them to tell me that I do NOT. I told them yesterday that I had previously been told that I do have them. This morning I get a call to say that yes I DO have them. They also told me that it is unlikely that they will be changing their position on remove/replace as the clinics who have agreed to remove/replace PIP implants carry out other surgery as well as cosmetic and Transform only carry out cosmetic surgery!

OFFLINE | I had a call from an extremely rude woman from Transform who had the gall to say that my PIP implants were safe ect!I told her i was seeking legal advice and she replied "well that will take years"!! I am gonna take them up on their offer of a consult(not the £150 reduced ultrasound fee) and have it out with them that i want these out and replaced!I'm totally shocked not only at Transorms attitude but that of the government and the general public with the whole will the NHS pay for these removals or will they not! |

OFFLINE | PIP UPDATE 9th January 2012 from you clinic
Following Friday’s announcement from the Department of Health, Transform has written to the Government to ask for an urgent meeting to discuss the statement and further comments made in the press so that we are best able to inform and support our patients.
It is important to continue to stress that The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has stated based on expert advice as it stands that “there is not enough evidence to recommend routine explantation (i.e. removal) of these (PIP) breast implants.”
However, we believe the Government needs to work constructively with us to find a workable solution to a situation that continues to cause our patients anxiety.
We would like to confirm that Transform will make no charge for review appointments or medical records for those patients who are concerned about their PIP implants.
We will update our website accordingly, so please visit the site for the latest information.
Please contact our PIP Helpline on 08000 214 102 with any questions. |

OFFLINE | Hi I had mine done in 2005 and I know they are PIP. I haven't spoken to transform yet as they don't appear to be the most helpful. SHould I make an appointment with my GP then with transform??? I am lucky that I haven't had any symptoms but am frightened now to pick up my kids (stupid as it sounds) incase they rupture. I was assured they would not leak by a lady(Juliet Laws) who stabbed an implant with the sharp end of a pen! I want them out and replaced but the price today is £200 more than it was on Saturday! Any advise would be gratefully recieved, I can't write on the FB thread as I don't want friends who are coleegues and didn't know me then to know I had them done, the majority of us aren't glamour models! |

OFFLINE | Hi all, i had by BA in nov 2004 by mr singh, i started getting pain in right breast in jan 2010 and noticed that it had gone down a size, in june 2010 googled symptoms and found out about PIP.
Contacted Transform who were not helpful at all and told me i had to prove it had ruptured!!!! Went and saw GP who referred me to have an ultrasound, they couldn't find a rupture, but told me it's difficult to see a rupture with an ultrasound and it's better to have a MRI scan, which the NHS won't do and neither will Transform and couldn't afford to have it done privately.
They did tell me i had capsular contraction though, so contacted Transform again and said nothing they could do unless i paid £4500!!
So i contacted the clinic manager Graham Hughes at the Manchester Hospital and he was brilliant, said they would treat me as a pip rupture and would remove and replace for £2650 i lso got this in writing.
E-mailed PR at Transform on Fri when i heard that the price was going up to £2800, and someone contacted me Sat and today to confirm that the price i have in writing still stands and new pip patients will have to pay £2800!!! They are defo not budging on price... i have however arranged to see a surgeon in Feb to have a review
so have to see if they have changed their stance on pricing by then.
Anne if i was you, i would contact Transform first and see what they say, also have you had any quotes in writing??? |

OFFLINE | I only found out last night that my implants are PIP. I had the surgery in June of 2005 with Transform via the Bristol clinic.
Have spoken to Transform today who have taken my details and said I will receive a call within 5 days for further information. I honestly cannot afford to pay to have them removed but am terrified that after having them for 7 years the chances of rupture are a lot higher. I am also very concerned that I breastfed both of my children while I had them.
Be good to hear how everyone gets on with Transform. I'll let you know when I hear further. |

OFFLINE | why the hell should we pay, didnt the £4,000 I paid in 2004 might I add in good faith not be enough? I didnt pay for implants that I now find were NEVER meant to be inplanted in humans but for matresses, if you bought a car and it had a chance of exploding, would you take it back and then pay at a discounted rate for a new one? no you wouldnt... I am seeking legal advice to sue transform who are frankly putting profit before the welfare of their patients, I chose a reputable comapny and paid a lot of money, I didnt go to some overseas cheapo company and I want them to replace them, Utter disgrace im fuming |
