A friend of mine had this done and she's loved it and hasn't seemed to have had any problem. I think the only reason I don't consider it is because it doesn't bother me wearing glasses. |

the only people i have heard that had problems.. were those who couldnt follow directions from their doctor..there are drops for the eyes they give you to prevent infections..and you have to wear silly goggles in the shower for the first few days.. so about a week after the surgery.. you are pretty much done. it was well worth it. my big issue was.. glasses and contacts were not correcting my eyes as good as they needed to be... |

Yea, directions and suggestions are two different things. This is a big problem with people and physical therapy also. Anywho, what I don't remember is if my insurance covers it. My friend who had it done, it was her boyfriend who paid for it for her. |

ahhhh.. its usually covered by most insurances.. hubby used his Medical spending account from his job.. i had it done in February and his medial spending account collected from him for the rest of the year... he did the same for himself two years before.. his is still holding strong. no slippage. |

OFFLINE | I've never had lasik surgery....but I did have cataract surgery some years ago. My only "caution" would be whether or not you have people in your immediate family who have had "cataract" surgery. My doctor (who was older...and VERY old school) told me, when I asked him about my sister in law wanting this surgery....that he was not "sold" on lasik surgery. The reason, he said, was that it "reshapes" the eyeball....which, in turn, if you ever have cataracts, makes it very difficult to have corrective laser surgery (which is the way most doctors correct cataracts these days). His recommendation was NOT to have lasik surgery...for that reason. I passed this information onto my sister in law...and she's not had the surgery. |

Well thanks. I also know I'd spend way too much time looking for the glasses that I thought I put down somewhere, which is what I do all of the time now. One time I even found them in the laundry basket! |
