sweaty pit people
cheesy black metal
fashion trends in metal (jeans/tshirt/tennis shoes-really all the uniform necessary unless you're adding optional spikes)
Bolt Thrower hasn't released a new album since Those Once Loyal

Seconded! I don't care what anyone else says but I love my Sade, Doobie Brothers, Tears For Fears, and old Motown jams just as much as I love my Silencer, The Chasm, Sodom, Entombed, etc.

One more thing, if I may add.. zines. I'm talking about these 'glossy', slick n' hip stuff like Metal Maniacs and others that fall in the same league as this toilet paper. For one a lot of these rags hire writers who come across more as groupies, fan boys, elitists, what have you more than thorough journalists and you can tell by way of the writing. Not to mention the fact that they overhype all the crap being pushed by record labels that pay for the brunt of their advertising like Century Mediocre, Metal Blade, etc. of which most of their rosters are garbage in the first place. A waste of trees if you ask me..

You have to admit that was pretty annoying.

Really though, I agree. I realize that most people aren't me, so I expect whatever I have to deal with in the world as far as people are concerned is something that I'm also going to have to deal with in metal, which is too bad because metal is pretty much my catharsis. I just don't let it get in the way of my ability to enjoy it.
