Well of course I have a story to tell.

I just had a FB texting conversation with my 21 year old son, who no longer lives at home.  And well hes had a tough first couple of years out of high school.  Ultimately he ended up losing his license at the age of 19 almost 20.  He is eligible to get it back now, all he has to do is pay the DMV fee and start all over.. permit, and road test again.   Well he has been doing super well this last year. working 2 jobs for a while.  Working 60 + hours a week.  until 2 weeks ago.  he lost his job b/c the place is closing.  So I know he has been a bit bummed out.. Today he was asking me when taxes come in and stuff so that he can get his license and a car.. so he can find a decent job.

Well I told him that as long as my taxes are enough to cover a couple of bills I plan on giving him a couple hundred dollars.  He was like.. No mom.I dont want you giving me money and always paying for me.. Now mind you.. I have been pretty low on the pay scale this last year compared to what Im used to making.. and he has helped me out with funds from time to time.  this made me feel both so proud of him because he really wants to be adult and be self sufficient, but it also made me feel sad, b/c he doesnt want my help..  I had to explain to him how its what parents do..and for goodness sake.. I had to ask my son for help... how did he think that made me feel.. and  Man..ya know how good it will feel to be able to help him.???   anyways.. I just wanted to share my pride in my son.

Im sure you all have something to be proud of.. lets take some negativity and make it positive!!

My son Cody graduated college with a general study degree but has now finally chosen a course of study to continue on with. Brittany has 2 more online classes and she will have her degree in Forensic Science. Both kids have worked 2 jobs and gone to college Im very proud of the adults they have become. I guess I did something right : )

My son is a well-mannered 7 year old; says excuse me to people and thank you, which is not common in today's day and age. It is so rare that when he says it to people, they look at him in shock.  I'm proud of his intelligent little mind, making straight A's in school.

In July 2009 my daughter was a single mom with no place to live and no job. Her husband had just left her and was providing no financial support for her. She moved from Arizona to stay with me. Within two months she had a job and an apartment. Three months later she got a better job. Six months later she moved from bagging groceries to being a pharmacy clerk. And last month she bought a house. She still gets no support from her dirt bag ex-husband. But she is doing pretty darn good on her on!

My son is at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, where he is maintaining a 98%+ average in school (#1 in his class). His job? He is going to be the guy who maintains and repairs Tomahawk cruise missiles!
My daughter is currently a freshman at the Art Institute of Philadelphia with a 3.75 GPA.
Damn right I am proud of them!
