ICB Mutual Funds: On the close of business operation on April 19, the ICB Mutual Funds have stated net asset value (NAV) for First ICB MF of Tk 11,020.46, Second ICB MF of Tk 3,063.00, Third ICB MF of Tk 2,215.66, Fourth ICB MF of Tk 2,642.65, Fifth ICB MF of Tk 2,184.41, Sixth ICB MF of Tk. 809.62, Seventh ICB MF of Tk 1,275.02 and Eighth ICB MF of Tk 934.71 per unit on current market price basis against face value of Tk 100 each. Whereas, on the basis of cost price, NAV per unit of the said 8 ICB mutual funds were Tk 1,183.96, Tk 806.11, Tk 624.88, Tk 600.12, Tk 435.89, Tk 248.21, Tk 331.96 and Tk 291.23 respectively against face value of Tk 100 each.

PHP First MF: On the close of business operation on April 21, 2011, PHP First Mutual Fund has stated NAV of Tk 9.41 per unit on the basis of current market price and Tk 10.46 per unit on the basis of cost price against face value of Tk 10, whereas total net assets of the fund stood at Tk 1,881,112,773.06 on the basis of market price and Tk 2,091,128,731.17 on the basis of cost price after considering all assets and liabilities of the fund.

Popular Life First MF: On the close of business operation on April 21, 2011, Popular Life First Mutual Fund has stated NAV of Tk 9.88 per unit on the basis of current market price and Tk 10.71 per unit on the basis of cost price against face value of Tk 10, whereas total net assets of the fund stood at Tk 1,976,629,161.63 on the basis of market price and Tk 2,142,888,892.93 on the basis of cost price after considering all assets and liabilities of the fund.

First Janata Bank MF: On the close of business operation on April 21, 2011, First Janata Bank Mutual Fund has states NAV of Tk 10.19 per unit on the basis of current market price and Tk 10.90 per unit on the basis of cost price against face value of Tk 10, whereas total net assets of the fund stood at Tk 2,037,620,002.71 on the basis of market price and Tk 2,180,460,696.36 on the basis of cost price after considering all assets and liabilities of the fund.

IFIC Bank 1st MF: On the close of business operation on April 21, 2011, IFIC Bank 1st Mutual Fund has stated NAV of Tk 13.18 per unit on the basis of current market price and Tk 12.35 per unit on the basis of cost price against face value of Tk 10, whereas total net assets of the fund stood at Tk 1,581,147,844.04 on the basis of market price and Tk. 1,481,661,405.58 on the basis of cost price after considering all assets and liabilities of the fund.

Trust Bank 1st MF: On the close of business operation on April 21, 2011, Trust Bank 1st Mutual Fund has stated NAV of Tk 13.89 per unit on the basis of current market price and Tk 12.48 per unit on the basis of cost price against face value of Tk 10, whereas total net assets of the fund stood at Tk 2,778,261,673.60 on the basis of market price and Tk 2,495,698,959.06 on the basis of cost price after considering all assets and liabilities of the fund.

EBL First MF: On the close of operation on April 21, 2011, EBL First Mutual Fund has stated NAV of Tk 14.40 per unit at current market price basis and Tk 13.16 per unit at cost price basis against face value of Tk 10, whereas total net assets of the fund stood at Tk 1,439,742,402.91 based on market price and Tk 1,315,914,241.77 based on cost price after considering all assets and liabilities of the fund.

Grameen One: Scheme Two: On the close of business operation on April 21, 2011, Grameen One: Scheme Two has stated NAV of Tk 18.46 per unit at current market price basis and Tk 12.25 per unit at cost price basis against face value of Tk 10, whereas net assets of the fund stood at Tk 2,307,236,914. — DSE Online

Stocks decline, turnover up

All the indices of Dhaka stocks fell more than one per cent on Sunday, as investors remained confused over the outcome of probe report on stock market scam. A sudden surge in the share price of Beximco group companies also marked the days trading.

In the top ten turnover list, five companies emerged from the Beximco group and its share price also gained substantially in the trading. In the top gainers list, top five companies were from the Beximco group.

Market insiders said, rumors relating to Beximco's corporate declaration prompted heavy trading in the Beximco group share. The conglomerate is scheduled to announce its corporate declaration April 28.

However, the benchmark DSE General Index (DGEN), the yardstick of the DSE ended at 6,076.32, shedding 116.30 points or 1.88 per cent.

The broader All Shares Price Index (DSI) went down by 95.84 points or 1.86 per cent to 5,053.28. The DSE-20 index comprising blue-chip shares lost 42.78 points or 1.11 per cent to 3,809.74.

However, the market opened with a positive note, gaining more than 18 points within five minutes. After that, it fell gradually in the rest of the trading session amid moderate ups and downs and finally closed 116 points lower.

"Small investors remained confused over the stock scam probe report and they also impressed concern over the government's action against the market manipulators," said Yawer Sayeed, managing director and CEO of AIMS of Bangladesh.

He said that investors also lost some confidence in the current volatile market while big investors' remained also inactive relating to the uncertainty over investigation report.

Though the turnover volume gained on the day, the flow of liquidity is still low as the money market remained tight and many of the investors remained shaky for fresh investment, he said.

"The money market is still tight and banks offer high interest rate on deposit; as a result many investors began to deposit their money into banks instead of investing in the volatile share market," Mr Sayeed said.

A total of 67.17 million shares changed hands on the day against 50.67 million in the previous session. The trade deals also increased to 140,538 against 115,848 in the previous session.

The total market capitalization stood at Tk 2,755.06 billion against Tk 2,800.25 billion in the previous session.

The losers took strong lead over the gainers as out 255 issues traded, only 23 advanced, 227 declined and five remained unchanged.

However, the turnover stood at Tk 6.31 billion (US$ 91.5 million) in value terms, up by 32 per cent, from Tk 4.77 billion in the previous session.

All sectors closed in the red zone, except the textile sector. The textile sector gained 0.59 per cent.

Banking sector lost 2.84 per cent, NBFIs lost 2.71 per cent; telecommunications lost 1.72 per cent, fuel and power 1.65 per cent.

Among the notable losers---mutual fund sector 2.32 per cent, general insurance 3.70 per cent, life insurance 1.87 per cent, pharmaceuticals 0.55 per cent, cement 1.58 per cent, tannery 1.72 per cent, jute 1.45 per cent and ceramics 0.79 per cent.

Beximco Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 806.85 million changing hands.

The other turnover leaders were Bextex Limited, Shinepukur Ceramics, Beximco Pharma, United Airways, Aftab Automobiles, Malek Spinning, Titas Gas, Beximco Synthetics and newly debut Salvo Chemicals.

Bextex Limited was the day's highest gainer posting 9.80 per cent rise. It was followed by Shinepukur Ceramics, Beximco Pharma, Beximco Limited, Beximco Synthetics, Reckitt Benckiser (Bd.) Ltd, Chittagong Vegetable, National Tea, Bangas and Desh Garment.

Shajalal Bank was the day's top loser and the Bank lost 27.17 per cent following its price adjustment after record date. The day's other prominent losers included Northern Insurance, Beacon Pharma, BD Finance, Sonargaon Textile, City General Insurance, National Housing Finance, Continental Insurance, BIFC and Republic Insurance.

পুঁজিবাজারে টানা পতনে বিক্ষোভ

ঢাকা, ২৫ এপ্রিল (শীর্ষ নিউজ ডটকম): টানা দরপতনে ডিএসইর সামনে বিক্ষোভ করেছে সাধারণ বিনিয়োগকারীরা। আজ সোমবার সপ্তাহের দ্বিতীয় দিনের লেনদেনের শুরু থেকে শেয়ারবাজারে দরপতন শুরু হয়। দরপতনে সাধারণ বিনিয়োগকারীদের মধ্যে ক্ষোভ ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। দুপুর সাড়ে ১২টার দিকে ডিএসই সাধারণ সূচক ১৩৮ পয়েন্ট পড়ে গেলে বিনিয়োগকারীদের মধ্যে আতঙ্ক ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। উদ্বিগ্ন বিনিয়োগকারীরা রাস্তায় নেমে আসে এবং ডিএসইর সামনে জড়ো হয়ে দরপতনের প্রতিবাদে বিক্ষোভ শুরু করে। বিক্ষোভের মুখে মতিঝিল ও এর আশপাশের সড়কে যান চলাচল বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। এ সময় বিক্ষোভকারীরা অর্থমন্ত্রী আবুল মাল আব্দুল মুহিত, বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক গভর্নর ড. আতিউর রহমান, এসইসি, ডিএসই কর্মকর্তাদের পদত্যাগ দাবি করে।
দুপুর পৌনে ১টার দিকে বিদ্যুৎ উন্নয়ন বোর্ডের মোটরসাইকেল আরোহী দুই ব্যক্তিকে মারধর শুরু করে। পরিস্থিতি সামাল দিতে পুলিশ বিক্ষুব্ধ বিনিয়োগকারীদের ধাওয়া দিয়ে ছত্রভঙ্গ করে। এ সময় পুলিশ মৃদু লাঠিচার্জ করে। তবে কাউকে আটক করেনি।
বিনিয়োগকারীরা পুলিশি বাধার মুখে পরে আর বিক্ষোভ করতে পারেনি। দুপুর ১টা থেকে হালকা যান চলাচল শুরু করে এবং ধীরে ধীরে তা স্বাভাবিক হয়ে আসে।
বিক্ষোভে অংশ নেয়া বিনিয়োগকারীরা জানান, পুঁজিবাজার তদন্ত কমিটির রিপোর্ট প্রকাশ নিয়ে সরকারের সিদ্ধান্তহীনতা এবং বড় বড় বিনিয়োগকারীরা লেনদেনে অংশ না নেয়ায় পতন ত্বরান্বিত হয়েছে। দ্রুত তদন্ত রিপোর্ট প্রকাশসহ জড়িতদের শাস্তি দিয়ে বাজারে স্থিতিশীলতা ফেরাতে সরকারের যথাযথ পদক্ষেপ দাবি জানান তারা।
সোমবার লেনদেন শেষে ডিএসই সাধারণ সূচক ২১২ দশমিক ৩৪ পয়েন্ট কমে ৫৮৬৩ দশমিক ৯৭ পয়েন্টে নেমে আসে। সূচক কমেছে ৩.৪৯ শতাংশ হারে। ডিএসআই সাবিক সূচক কমেছে ১৭৩ পয়েন্ট। পতনের হার ৩.৪৪ শতাংশ।
এদিকে সোমবার ডিএসইতে ২৫২টি কোম্পানির শেয়ার ও মিউচ্যুয়াল ফান্ডের মধ্যে প্রায় সবকটি কোম্পানির শেয়ারের দাম কমেছে। দাম বেড়েছে মাত্র ১১টির, কমেছে ২৩৭টির এবং অপরিবর্তিত ছিল ৩টির। কমেছে ব্যাংক, বীমা, আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান, ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং, মিউচ্যুয়াল ফান্ডসহ সব ধরনের শেয়ারদর। আজ লেনদেন হয়েছে ৬১৩ কোটি টাকার কিছু বেশি। গতকাল ডিএসইতে লেনদেন হয় ৬৩১ কোটি টাকার। যা আজকের লেনদেনের তুলনায় ১৮ কোটি টাকা বেশি।
উল্লেখ্য, গেল সপ্তাহের শেষ কার্যদিবসে সূচক ৬০ পয়েন্টের কিছু বাড়ে। কিন্তু, এর আগে টানা ৫ কার্যদিবসে ডিএসই সাধারণ সূচক ২৯১ কমে যায়। এ নিয়ে গত ৮ কার্যদিবসের ৭ দিনই ডিএইতে দরপতন হয়েছে, কমেছে অধিকাংশ কোম্পানির শেয়ার ও মিউচ্যুয়াল ফান্ডের দর। আর এ ৭ কার্যদিবসে ডিএসই সাধারণ সূচক কমেছে ৬২০ পয়েন্টের কিছু বেশি।

মারিকো বিডি ও তাক্কাফুল ইন্স্যুরেন্স'র লভ্যাংশ ঘোষণা

ঢাকা, ২৫ এপ্রিল (শীর্ষ নিউজ ডটকম): সোমবার পুঁজিবাজারে তালিকাভুক্ত দুটি কোম্পানি স্ব স্ব প্রতিষ্ঠানের শেয়ারহোল্ডাদের জন্য ২০১০ অর্থবছরের জন্য লভ্যাংশ ঘোষণা করেছে। আজ ঢাকা স্টক এঙ্চেঞ্জের ওয়েবসাইটে এ তথ্য প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে। লভ্যাংশ প্রদানকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান দুটি হচ্ছে- মারিকো বাংলাদেশ লিমিটেড ও তাক্কাফুল ইন্স্যুরেন্স।
মারিকো বাংলাদেশ লিমিটেডের পরিচালনা পর্ষদ প্রতিষ্ঠানের শেয়ারহোল্ডারদের ২০ শতাংশ স্টক লভ্যাংশ প্রদানের ঘোষণা নিয়েছে। প্রাপ্ত তথ্যমতে, প্রতিষ্ঠানটির বার্ষিক সাধারণ সভা (এজিএম) আগামী ২৮ জুন এবং রেকর্ড ডেট ৮ মে।
এদিকে তাক্কাফুল ইন্স্যুরেন্স'র পরিচালনা পর্ষদ প্রতিষ্ঠানের শেয়ারহোল্ডারদের জন্য ১৫ শতাংশ স্টক লভ্যাংশ ঘোষণা করেছে। প্রতিষ্ঠানটির বার্ষিক সাধারণ সভা (এজিএম) আগামী ২ জুলাই অনুষ্ঠিত হবে এবং রেকর্ড ডেট ১০ মে।

পুঁজিবাজারে ব্যাপক দরপতন, বিক্ষোভ

ঢাকা, এপ্রিল ২৫ (বিডিনিউজ টোয়েন্টিফোর ডটকম)- পুঁজিবাজারে সোমবার ব্যাপক দরপতনে বিক্ষোভ করেছেন বিনিয়োগকারীরা। এদিন সাধারণ সূচক ২১২ পয়েন্ট হারিয়েছে ডিএসই। কমেছে বেশিরভাগ প্রতিষ্ঠানের শেয়ারের দাম।

ঢাকা স্টক এক্সচেঞ্জে (ডিএসই) লেনদেন হওয়া ২৫১টি প্রতিষ্ঠানের শেয়ারের মধ্যে দাম কমেছে ২৩৭টির, বেড়েছে মাত্র ১১টির।

মোট হাতবদল হয়েছে ৬১৩ কোটি ৮ লাখ ৭৭ হাজার ১৭৬ টাকার ৬ কোটি ১৩ লাখ ১০ হাজার ৬৩৩টি শেয়ার।

সাধারণ সূচক ২১২ দশমিক ৩৪ পয়েন্ট কমে হয় ৫ হাজার ৮৬৩ দশমিক ৯৭ পয়েন্ট।

সোমবার লেনদেনের শুরুতে ঢাকার সোয়া এক ঘণ্টায় সূচক ১১৮ পয়েন্ট হারানোর পর মতিঝিলে বিক্ষোভ শুরু করে বিনিয়োগকারীরা। এ সময় ডিএসই কার্যালয়ের সামনে তারা শ্লোগান দিতে থাকে। এতে ওই সড়কে গাড়ি চলাচল বন্ধ হয়ে যায়।

দুপুর পৌনে ১টার দিকে বিক্ষুব্ধ বিনিয়োগকারীরা সড়কে দুটি মটর সাইকেল ভাংচুর করলে পুলিশ তাদের লাঠিপেটা করে রাস্তা থেকে হটিয়ে দেয়। এরপর ধীরে ধীরে গাড়ি চলাচল স্বাভাবিক হয়ে আসে।

ঢাকার পুঁজিবাজারে গত সপ্তাহেও নিুমুখী প্রবণতা ছিলো। তবে সপ্তাহের শেষদিনে সাধারণ সূচক বেড়েছিলো ৬০ পয়েন্ট। এরপর রোববার সূচক ১১৬ পয়েন্ট কমে দাঁড়ায় ৬০৭৬ পয়েন্ট।

পুঁজিবাজারে দরপতন অব্যাহত, বিনিয়োগকারীদের বিক্ষোভ

দেশের পুঁজিবাজারে আজ সোমবার দরপতন অব্যাহত রয়েছে। দুই স্টক এক্সচেঞ্জে আজ প্রায় সব প্রতিষ্ঠানের দাম কমেছে। এর ফলে কমেছে সাধারণ সূচক ও লেনদেন। এদিকে অব্যাহত দরপতনে পুঁজি হারিয়ে ক্ষুব্ধ বিনিয়োগকারীরা আজ ডিএসইর সামনের সড়ক অবরোধ করে বিক্ষোভ করেছেন। গতকাল রোববারও দুই স্টক এক্সচেঞ্জে দরপতন হয়।
প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীরা জানান, নিম্নমুখী প্রবণতার মধ্য দিয়ে আজ ডিএসইতে লেনদেন শুরু হয়। দুপুর সাড়ে ১২টার দিকে সূচক ১৩৮ পয়েন্ট পড়ে গেলে বিনিয়োগকারীরা ডিএসই ভবনের সামনের সড়ক অবরোধ করে বিক্ষোভ শুরু করেন।
বিনিয়োগকারীরা অর্থমন্ত্রী আবুল মাল আবদুল মুহিত, সিকিউরিটিজ অ্যান্ড এক্সচেঞ্জ কমিশনের (এসইসি) চেয়ারম্যান জিয়াউল হক খোন্দকার, ডিএসইর সভাপতি শাকিল রিজভীর বিরুদ্ধে বিভিন্ন স্লোগান দেন এবং তাঁদের পদত্যাগ দাবি করেন।
বিক্ষুব্ধ বিনিয়োগকারীরা রাস্তার ওপর আগুন জ্বালিয়ে সড়ক অবরোধ করে রাখেন। এতে মতিঝিলের শাপলা চত্বর থেকে ইত্তেফাক মোড় পর্যন্ত সড়কে যান চলাচল বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। এ সময় জরুরি বিদ্যুেকন্দ্র স্থাপনের কাজে নিয়োজিত ইশান নামে এক ব্যক্তি ডিএসইর সামনে দিয়ে মোটরসাইকেলে যাওয়ার সময় বিনিয়োগকারীরা ওই ব্যক্তি ও তাঁর সহযোগীর ওপর চড়াও হয়। একপর্যায়ে পুলিশ বিনিয়োগকারীদের ধাওয়া দিয়ে তাঁদেরকে উদ্ধার করে। পরে বেলা একটার দিকে যান চলাচল স্বাভাবিক হয়।
বিনিয়োগকারীরা অভিযোগ করেন, পুঁজিবাজারের কারসাজি তদন্তে গঠিত কমিটি অর্থমন্ত্রীর কাছে জমা দিলেও এখনো তদন্ত প্রতিবেদন প্রকাশ না করা এবং তদন্ত প্রতিবেদন নিয়ে অর্থমন্ত্রীর নানা মন্তব্যের কারণে বিনিয়োগকারীরা তা প্রকাশ নিয়ে দ্বিধাদ্বন্দ্বে পড়েছেন। একই সঙ্গে অনেক বিনিয়োগকারী প্রতিবেদন প্রকাশ না হওয়া পর্যন্ত বাজারে সক্রিয় হতে চাচ্ছেন না। এর ফলে বাজারে বিরূপ প্রভাব পড়ায় দরপতনের ঘটনা ঘটছে। বিনিয়োগকারীরা দ্রুত বাজারে স্থিতিশীলতা ফিরিয়ে আনার দাবি করেন।
ডিএসই সূত্রে জানা যায়, আজ দিন শেষে ডিএসইর সাধারণ মূল্যসূচক ২১২.৩৪ পয়েন্ট বা তিন দশমিক ৪৯ শতাংশ কমে ৫৮৬৩.৯৭ পয়েন্টে দাঁড়ায়। আজ ডিএসইতে হাতবদল হওয়া ২৫১টি প্রতিষ্ঠানের মধ্যে বেড়েছে মাত্র ১১টির, কমেছে ২৩৭টির এবং অপরিবর্তিত রয়েছে তিনটি প্রতিষ্ঠানের শেয়ারের দাম। ডিএসইতে আজ ৬১৩ কোটি টাকার লেনদেন হয়েছে, যা গতকালের চেয়ে ১৮ কোটি টাকা কম।
ডিএসইতে লেনদেনে শীর্ষে থাকা ১০টি প্রতিষ্ঠান হলো বেক্সিমকো, বেক্সটেক্স, ইউনাইটেড এয়ারওয়েজ, তিতাস গ্যাস, আফতাব অটো, ডেসকো, শাইনপুকুর সিরামিকস, অলিম্পিক, মালেক স্পিনিং ও বিএসআরএম স্টিল।
অন্যদিকে চট্টগ্রাম স্টক এক্সচেঞ্জের (সিএসই) সার্বিক মূল্যসূচক আজ ৬১৬.৮৬ বা তিন দশমিক ৬১ শতাংশ কমে ১৬৪৩৩.৭৭ পয়েন্টে দাঁড়ায়। সিএসইতে হাতবদল হওয়া ১৯৭টি প্রতিষ্ঠানের মধ্যে দাম বেড়েছে মাত্র ছয়টির, কমেছে ১৯০টির এবং অপরিবর্তিত রয়েছে মাত্র একটি প্রতিষ্ঠানের শেয়ারের দাম। স্টক এক্সচেঞ্জটিতে আজ মোট ৮৪ কোটি টাকার লেনদেন হয়।

পুঁজিবাজার তদন্ত কমিটির প্রতিবেদনের ওপর বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের মতামত পাওয়ার পরই পুরো প্রতিবেদনটি প্রকাশ করা হবে বলে জানিয়েছেন অর্থমন্ত্রী আবুল মাল আবদুল মুহিত।
গতকাল রোববার সচিবালয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত সরকারি ক্রয়সংক্রান্ত মন্ত্রিসভা কমিটির বৈঠকের পর সাংবাদিকদের প্রশ্নের জবাবে অর্থমন্ত্রী এ কথা বলেন।
অর্থমন্ত্রী বলেন, মতামতের জন্য মূল প্রতিবেদনটি বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক ও সিকিউরিটিজ অ্যান্ড এক্সচেঞ্জ কমিশনে (এসইসি) পাঠানো হয়েছিল। এসইসির মতামত এসেছে। বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের মতামত এলেই তা আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে প্রকাশ করা হবে।
প্রতিবেদনের বেশ কিছু বিষয়ে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের মতামত নেওয়া প্রয়োজন বলেও মন্তব্য করেন অর্থমন্ত্রী।
বাজারের সাম্প্রতিক উত্থান-পতন সম্পর্কে অর্থমন্ত্রী বলেন, ‘এটি বাজারের স্বাভাবিক প্রবণতা। আমাদের পুঁজিবাজারে সূচকের সামান্য পতন হলেই বিনিয়োগকারীরা ক্ষুব্ধ হয়ে ওঠেন। বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশে সূচকের বড় ধরনের পতনও হয়। তাঁরা কিন্তু এতটা হইচই করেন না।’
এদিকে অর্থ মন্ত্রণালয় সূত্র জানায়, পুঁজিবাজার তদন্ত কমিটির প্রতিবেদনটি সংবাদ সম্মেলন করে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে প্রকাশ করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে সরকার। প্রতিবেদনটি ২০ এপ্রিল সিডিতে রূপান্তর করা হয়েছে। সাংবাদিকসহ সংশ্লিষ্টদের একটি করে সিডি সরবরাহ করা হবে বলেও সূত্র জানিয়েছিল।
জানা গেছে, অর্থ মন্ত্রণালয়ের ব্যাংক ও আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান বিভাগ প্রতিবেদনের ওপর ভিত্তি করে একটি সংক্ষিপ্ত প্রতিবেদন তৈরি করে ইতিমধ্যে অর্থমন্ত্রী আবুল মাল আবদুল মুহিতের কাছে জমা দিয়েছে। কৃষি ব্যাংকের চেয়ারম্যান খোন্দকার ইব্রাহিম খালেদের নেতৃত্বাধীন কমিটি ৭ এপ্রিল অর্থমন্ত্রীর বাসায় গিয়ে এ প্রতিবেদন জমা দেয়।
প্রসঙ্গত, গত সপ্তাহে অর্থমন্ত্রী প্রতিবেদনের কিছু বিষয় নিয়ে পুনর্তদন্তের কথা সাংবাদিকদের জানিয়েছিলেন।
দুই প্রস্তাব অনুমোদন: অর্থমন্ত্রী জানান, বিদ্যুৎকেন্দ্র স্থাপন ও চিনি ক্রয়-সম্পর্কিত দুটি প্রস্তাব বৈঠকে অনুমোদন দেওয়া হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে একটি হলো প্রাইভেট সেক্টর পাওয়ার জেনারেশন পলিসি অব বাংলাদেশের আওতায় চট্টগ্রামে ৫০ মেগাওয়াট বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদন। অন্যটি ২৫ হাজার টন চিনি ক্রয়।
আট প্রতিষ্ঠানের মধ্যে সর্বনিম্ন দরদাতা হিসেবে বিদ্যুৎ প্রকল্পের কাজটি পেয়েছে বরকত উল্লাহ ইলেকট্রো ডায়নামিক্স নামক একটি প্রতিষ্ঠান। বিদ্যুৎ বিল বাবদ ১৫ বছরে এ প্রতিষ্ঠানকে তিন হাজার ৪৪৮ কোটি টাকা পরিশোধ করবে সরকার। আর চিনি কেনা হবে ডব্লিউ অ্যান্ড ডব্লিউ ফ্রান্স করপোরেশনের কাছ থেকে প্রতি টন ৭২৩ ডলারে। এতে মোট ব্যয় হবে ১৫৭ কোটি ১৬ লাখ টাকা।
