OFFLINE | Haha reading both your posts makes me laugh and just gets me so much more excited to get down there because I will not only be able to see Steven but I will get to meet the ladies who kept me sane throughout this process!! I hope you realize how truly grateful I am that I stumbled upon this forum and that you ladies were here to keep me company!!
Brenda! I am soooo happy to hear that Aaron is going to be fine! I bet that takes a load of worry off your shoulders! I also think it's a fantastic idea to send the last letter in time for them to receive it after they get back from the Cruicible! I think it will also make it feel much more real for them that they've accomplished so much and that they're in the home stretch!
Apryl, I agree that it will be hard not writing them letters after a certain time BUT! I also agree that it will as you said, make it feel that much closer to seeing our guys! I might still write Steven and just give him the letters when he gets home! We'll see :]
I hope you ladies are having a great Monday! It's too early to check for mail right now but I will most definitely get back on later to let you know if I received any news or not! Hoping you find a little something in your mailboxes today!! :]] |

OFFLINE | Well ladies I was blessed to receive a letter today from Marquis!!!!!! It was more so to Timmy......Marquis was advising his younger brother to make sure he gets all of his AP History homework done on time over the summer and to make sure that he pays attention in his AP English class.......Marquis had both of the teachers that Timmy will have as a Junior next year and hopes that he did not ruin it for Timmy!!!!!!! : :......He also spoke of my letters and said that the words I wrote to him of my pride and love for him have brought him near to tears on several occassions and that he is so glad that I have continued to write......(AS IF I WOULDN'T??????????) He is looking forward to Family Day so much and has decided that he wants to go to Harris Ranch to buy us all a Steak dinner.........: :....here we go with the food again!!!!!!!!! I am happy to hear that we all have been hearing such good news for the most part in the rescent letters!!!!! Lets hope they keep coming in the next few weeks!!!!!!! |

OFFLINE | Apryl LOL!!! I"ll stick you somewhere if I have too...like in between those twins beds!!! Yes, lets pretend its a party!! We might can't hoop & hollar loudly, but I bet we can do the happy dance!!!
Aaron sent a letter to his dad yesterday...he basically is writing back from a letter we sent weeks ago...the card with pictures of the pets and a book of stamps, he wanted me to know he got my letters as well. He DID NOT however send MY questionaire back, but did answer his PFT score. It was a 223, thats 10 pull-ups, 100 crunches, & did 3 mile run in 22:30. He hopes to improve a little on final PFT. Aaron said our guys placed 3rd overall on the range. Did any of the guys mention why they were the only ones who got to stay at CP? Aaron did not say anything.
Well we went today and reserve the motorhome to take on the trip. Its a 2007 but still in great condition. Now all I got to do is start buying all the food Aaron wants stocked on there.
Well, I'm heading off to take a nap before work, its been a long day!
Happy Flag Day to everyone...may it be flying high!!! |

OFFLINE | The image of you Apryl sleeping in the bathtub is hilarious! Haha I thoroughly hope it doesn't come down to that but hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!
No mail today :/ I totally got my hopes up when Steven said he'd keep writing in his last letter, I know that he's just busy, probably writing the 10,000 other people back who write to him which is actually really great, I'm glad everyone wants to keep him in the loop of the happenings going on here at home. I just always want to see that tiny envelope in the mailbox! Haha oh well, if I haven't gained any patience in the last 65 days I'm sure as hell not gonna start today! Can you believe we're at day 65?!?! 65 days ago this seemed impossible! We're in the home stretch now :]
Hope you all had a great Tuesday/Flag Day!! |

OFFLINE | Apryl I do the same thing with my mail!! Every piece of mail and advertisement are separated juuuust in case the letter had slipped in between something haha I thought I was crazy, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who's just super thorough! :]
Steven's family and I are actually leaving for travel on the 5th because we're just a bit further North so 20 days for me! Jeez, that's nothing!! I'll be back later to report on whether the mailman brought me anything! :]] Crossing my fingers for you ladies!! |

OFFLINE | Apryl, Will told me that it was a good idea to stop sending letters now, per his Sr DI, since it takes a while for them to get them. I'm sending a final letter tomorrow. I can't believe in three weeks we'll be down there! |

OFFLINE | HOME STRETCH IS RIGHT Brenda!!!!!!!!!!!!! 20 Days from today we will all be traveling to San Diego!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...........Im telling you my heart hasn't stopped racing since April 11th, but NOW I can actually hear it beating outside of my own chest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopes as I walk by people on the street they cant hear it!!!!!! : :.......I have so much to do in the next 19 days!!!!!!!! I am going to be making Marquis some CD's to listen to on the way home (6 hour drive 72 hours if we stop at every damn restaurant he wants to stop at!!!!!! : : ) as he made it pretty clear he misses music!!!!!! Making sure I have everything "charged" and packed for pictures and video, making my lists of what I am taking etc......and of course feeling sorry for myself that we won't be getting anymore letters.......THAT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO ladies, I suppose the next time we "HEAR" from our guys will be following The Crucible!!!!!!~ I was told by a few of my friends that have already gone through it that the call will come on the Monday following...(Karin that works out PERFECTLY for YOU!!!!!~)......Im not sure how close to reality that is as they have 400 and something recruits that will be wanting to call home.......I also heard a few people got the call prior to The Crucible which makes no sense to me at all.......so I suppose I am saying to everyone starting next Friday I think we should all keep our phones by our side and expect ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!~ Remember 619 area code or Unknown Caller should appear on your phone.....there is also a possibility that they may call from their DI's phones as well.........I don't know how long the phone call is, but at this point, I WILL TAKE ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!! 9 more days until our guys head to WFTBN to endure the Confidence/Gas Chamber and 10 days until the embark on The Crucible!!!!!!!!!~ I am keeping ALL of our guys in my thoughts and prayers!!!!!!!!! May they all succeed, may they all use patience, may they all have tolerance of one another, may they ration their MRE's wisely, may they all get to the end of those 54 hours PROUD, and with NO REGRETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! May all of our boys be safe and have no injury~ May they all climb that mountain and make it to the top as a UNITED STATES MARINE!!!!!!!!!~ Good luck Plt. 2166 and Plt. 2161!!!!!!~ We all KNOW you can do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
