Tojo was the member of an organized government. By the time he went on trial the struggle was over. His trail did not serve as a pulpit. The same cannot be said of Bin Laden. His organization is loose and trained to act separate of others and trained to "lay in wait". In the long run, killing him outright may cause a spike in attacks, but giving him a public pulpit would be more disastrous. Not that I agree with killing him without due process (in fact I do not agree with capital punishment), but I am able to see the wisdom in it.
It is fine and dandy to lay down a set of rules in which to live by, but ultimately the world isn't black and white. Most is just shades of gray. We cannot live by strict rules all the time. Just take your personal life as an example. How many rules, that you agree with, do you break???
I am sure Mr. Moore makes sense to quite a few people. I do not like him because he stands for socialist ideals. Now that in and of itself is not a bad thing. It is how he handles his own life that makes it unbearable. While he, and other champions of leftist ideals, spread the word, what they are really doing is amassing a personal fortune by selling a product through capitalist means. Basically, they are selling socialism for personal profit. See the irony and hypocrisy in this??? |

'Michael Moore: the walking Che Guevara t-shirt.'
I don't like him because he gives little head to logic and has ultimately become one of the primary mouth pieces for the psudo-intellectual leftist movement. I enjoyed how An American Carol lampooned his followers. |

OFFLINE | here are my thoughts on some of the other thoughts that were thought in here.
1. if bin laden was IN the custody of the u.s. military, then it would be illegal to kill him. however, conveniently, if a threat or possible threat was seen to be present at the time of his "apprehension," then - well - double tap to the head. that last part is what all the murkiness of the op is about.
2. thanks to all the hell raised by liberals in this country and the ACLU over club gitmo and military tribunals when bush was in office (yet they're all strangely silent with obama in office, doing the same thing), and thanks to this admin's failed attempt to try terrorists in new york (not to mention his failed attempt to close gitmo), they've made it easier to kill terrorists, than to capture them. especially the biggest terrorist of all. this prevents the obama admin from being in a tight spot. all the rhetoric over this coming from the left, would have almost forced holder to try him in a civilian court, or obama would be seen as a complete flip-flopper, who doesn't believe in all the crap he was saying on the campaign trail.
but should this be of any surprise? why do you think obama has stepped up so many predator drone attacks on terrorists? because it's easier for them to kill than to capture. the same reason obama hasn't brought any new detainees to gitmo. basically, they've boxed themselves in. obama figured out that it's a little bit different actually fighting the war on terror, than just talking about what all bush was doing wrong. |
