Welcome to the Sisterhood of the Traveling Vamps!
We are a group of ladies (18 & up) originally brought together by insomnia & our love of the Twilight Saga. Even though it was Twilight that brought us together, our community has extended into countless other interests. This has become our sanctuary to get away from the real World.
This is our little corner of the web. We have virtually no rules, and we'd like to keep it that way. With that being said, let's all try to follow the Golden Rule. Treat others the way you want to be treated. This applies to the whole forum, including the chat room and lounge. We are very protective of our sisters. So, breaking of the Golden Rule will not be tolerated.
Here are just a few guidelines for you to go by while navigating through the site:
Once you join, if you haven't already, please introduce yourself in the "Meet the Newborns" section. We want to get to know you.
Photos: When posting photos, do not upload them to the forum. Use the "insert image" button (the button looks like a small landscape picture) to post any photos. This forum uses BBC codes for the posting of photos. For code examples go here: http://www.bbcode.org/examples/?id=10
Profiles: To edit your profile, click on "profile" at the top of the page or you can click on your name anywhere you see it on the forum. Once you are at your profile, click "Modify Profile". The "Personal Text" is similar to the Bio section of Twitter in that you have a limited amount of text you can enter (100 characters). the info you submit will appear under your avatar for us all to read on your profile and wherever you post on the forum.
Avatars: We are forever changing and adding avatar options. You are always free to add your own avatars to your profile (100x100). If you wish to submit an avatar for the community to use, send me a pm and we'll add it.
Signatures: You can add a signature in the same place that you edit your profile. Try to keep the signature size within 900x250. (This may get larger/smaller as we see what works best for this forum) This forum uses BBC codes for the posting of photos. For code examples go here: http://www.bbcode.org/examples/?id=10
Font Size: Is the font size too big or too small on your screen? Hit "Ctrl" and scroll with your mouse to the desired size.
Sources: If you are posting any pictures, news, or writings that are not your own, please include the source in your post.
Chat: The chat room is located on the right side of the navigation menu at the top of the page. There is no password needed to enter, just enter your name. To pop the chat out, click on the "Float & Dock" button. With the pop out chat, you can browse the internet while chatting as long as you keep the original chat page open while you browse. This will make more sense after you try it the first time. No rules, but the Golden one.
NOTE:We all try to meet in chat each Saturday starting around 8pm central. This is not a mandatory meeting. We just hope to catch everyone online at the same time to hang out and chat.
The Lounge: is located in the Community Center of the forum.
The Lounge & Chat Room are open 24/7 for any members to mosey in. We have had almost any and every topic come up in our chat rooms. This may put off some people, but I feel we are all big girls and can talk about what we want. Just be nice to one another! No rules, but the Golden one. Enjoy!
At your own Risk: One of the best things about our little community, is that we get together and hang out in person from time to time. We are a pretty tight knit group, but you never know who is lurking in the shadows, please use caution with any personal information you choose to reveal about yourself.
I'm still trying to figure this forum out, so as I learn more of what I think will be helpful to you... I'll add it here. So, check back often. Also, feel free to send me a message if you have any questions.
