And...I will start off with a question of my own.
I think I may have walking Pneumonia...or at least..the nurse at work thinks I do.
I don't have health insurance, can't afford it..and make just a few dollars too much to get on that so called "Oregon Health Plan"
I have been sick for about 10 days now...lots of coughing, runny nose, low grade fever, head ache..body ache...
Ibuprophen doesnt help much, and neither do the cold or allergy medications.
So...does anybody know a good way to get rid of this ****...that DOESN"T cost a bunch of $$$?

Try Tylonal Mel to help with the fever but if it is pneumonia thats gonna take antibiotics.  Be careful that can turn worse in nothing flat.

Yeah Mel, if it's pneumonia you are going to have to get some medical attention.  Your kids need their mother.  What would you do if it were one of your children instead of you?

One thing that helps me when I'm sick is to completely quit drinking coffee until I'm over it, along with drinking as much water as I can possibly stomach. I was gunna suggest something like Nasonex until you mentioned the allergy meds weren't working

I've gotten pretty sick with congestion but had to work anyway so I lived on Dayquil before.  Hope you don't have pneumonia, Mel! How are you feeling today? ((((Hugs))))

Mel, don't some docs come to your work.  Can they take a look as a courtesy?

I just got home from having that nerve study done.  Some of the places they poked the needles in still hurt but others are fine.  I guess they found some nerve damage but I don't know what that means to me. Guess I have to wait until I see my regular doc next.

I've had one of these and it wasn't a pleasant experience by any means. But one thing that irritates me is that many neurologists tend to look at these studies, along with things like MRIs, and report that their findings, be them not perfect, aren't uncommon in older adults. This has the effect of invalidating a patient's reasoning for being there in the first place.

Neurologist: Juuuuust a little jolt

(ZAP!)

Unfortunately, it seems we now have to fight doctors too, just to get the health care we need! I am amazed at how often doctors have been wrong with me and my children! I hope you are able to get the help you need Kathy!

About 2 years ago a Neurologist, to my surprise, told me directly that I need to be the expert on MY medical issues. Ok, so I go through a variety of learning curves and learned quite a lot. But then quickly found that, generally speaking, doctors DON'T WANT patients to be all that informed on such matters. Now ain't that just all kind'zah suspect? :/

Ok, Guys, seriously, how many of you cringe when you see these little displays sitting in the doctor's office?
