As you may have noted, I've begun this forum's activities with a whole bunch of copy pasted links to discussions on the old format Philosophy Is Sexy board... which aren't working.

You can copy paste them to your browser address window to open them, it's just that you can't get them with a simple click like you'd think... Oh well.

I do hope this sort of works. I also hope we can hold onto the dynamics that have made PIS such a cool place over the years.

Suggestions and volunteer contributions to the improvement/maintenance of this forum are more than welcome.

If this forum becomes the successor to PIS, I would have no problem if the current and/or archived PIS threads were no longer available. My interest is limited to seeing what current posters post on current topics. FWDIM

I suppose it is a matter of getting used to it, and seeing whether the discussions 'take off'. There seems to be a lag at the PIS. I have slowed down with participating, have found no 'conversation' going on recently, busy with Life, etc. Topics for discussion have diminished.. I take my part of the responsibility.

I would also like the discussions to continue as I have learnt, and there is much more there is to learn.

I wish, though, I did not have to change from https to http in order to look into the forums..

Do we get notifications for replies? Or do we have to actively look in for those?

Alma, I found a line at the top of each separate forum thread that asks if one wants to be notified of replys to it. I agree and I get notifications.

Your forum appears to be struggling as much to get off the ground as mine, David. I'm thinking it will be this way until facebook makes it easier for people to find these forums. For now, I've given up. Good luck.
