The forums need a few things.

I found that Moderators AND admins, are unable to edit peoples posts.

I also found Moderators can not BAN.

We do not have Moderator and Admin status under our names.

From what I can see, is that you can only add 1 mod :/

The whole point in being a Mod, is to keep the forums under control of strays. How can they do this if all they can do is delete a post.

Great job on this app!! but just some questions...

- Can multiple mods please be added.

- Also deleted posts - can they be put in a basket category only visible by admin or mods for possible review or restoration?

- Same for banning - could there be a warning system or a review mechanism for banning - suspension pending review and banning? A way of restoring membership if need be?

- Also a membership list of members. Could admin access a list of members to send messages or a news event specifically to members?

- As for not deleting posts but moving it to another category. Is it possible to give such a mod tool to admins or mods?

I'm sorry that all seems a lot of work for you guys... it is awesome as it is! Just some ideas of what could be...

Just an idea.....

But it would be good if the forum showed who posted last with either name and time/date. Or the profile photo of the last poster with time/date. We can't see if anyone has posted since you last visited, because all it shows is the post count going up on the main front page of the forum, when logging in.

Good ideas there.

I agree these forums are good. I am sure more will be added in time.

I also would like to see mods being able to Ban and edit posts. If Mods can not ban and edit. Then there are no point in having Mods. Admins can not edit either. If there are contents in someones post, that we do not wish to be posted. Then we can edit parts of that post.

Oh just lovely, time for me to find a new forum. The point of the mod is to report it to the admin and the admin takes care of it. If you don't want the responsibility you shouldn't have started a forum. Mods don't need to edit people's words, delete their posts yes, but edit their words?? NEVER!! Love the slippery slope you people want to open up!! You and Scott may be good people who would never abuse it, but I doubt every mod appointed will be. Yeah, I need to find a new forum fast, this place is going to suck real quick like. Especially since we will never be able to trust that what someone said was REALLY what they said!

I believe that the real Cari actually supports the feature and some mod changed her words to make it seem like she was upset...

You dont like this feature? It exists in almost all of the forums.

They are very basic features to most forums and yes, they can be abused but if they are abused it is for the people of the forum to vote with their feet. If you leave this forum for adding this feature you would be exercising your right to do so too.
The best thing in most instances is to apply self moderation, but not everybody does that unfortunately. I would personally prefer never to delete, edit or moderate any post on forum.  But I know that in some instances I might have to.
In adding this feature, the best thing to do is to also add a tag to show that the post has been edited and by whom and to add a line where when editing the post, you "Have to" type a reason for editing which would be displayed on post after editing.

None of the forums I post on, and even the board I used to mod changed it because people stopped posting because their words were being changed. Even on MySpace I asked a mod if he could take out one part of my post that didn't make sense, he said all he could do was delete the whole thing, he couldn't edit my post. Needless to say he deleted my post and I started posting on a daily basis.

No, even as a mod who had this power I HATE this feature. (I got to see first hand what could go down because of it) But especially since this forum is connected to our Facebook pages, I will NOT post in a forum that some arbitrary jerk off has the ability to change my words. Deleting my post, yes, they have to do that to keep out the spam etc. But changing what I said? Oh hell no.

No apologies needed. I do get really ticked off really quick when I find out I've been dupped into posting somewhere that doesn't respect its users enough to leave their speech unedited. And your point, though it was a joke, is oh, so valid.

With admins and mods having the power to change our words you don't know if that was how/what I really said, now do you?
