OFFLINE | Not in Finland, where I now sit, but in many countries around the world today is a day for recognizing the importance of our fathers. As a father myself, I'd like to think of the paternal role as more than that of disposable sperm dispenser. But what precisely is the role of a father in the 21st century? The traditional tasks of primary bread winner and absolute authority figure have been rather taken out of the picture. So what do you see as the primary things that still make fathers uniquely valuable as fathers? Or do fathers have any unique value?
