According to Barbara Walters on a recent episode of The View, Adam Sandler has recently stated that his wearing a wedding ring seems to make him more attractive to approaching women. In reflection, I have actually found that to be true. Has that been the case with other married guys here also?

Ok.. I think that Barbara was being polite when she made that statement..  A wedding ring doesnt make a person any  more attractive.  It may make them attractive to a different type of person.  For instance.. Im the type that if I see a wedding ring.. I dont look any further.. of course Im the type of woman who wants a guy that is available for a comitted relationship.  Now there are women, on the other hand, who dont want to be in a committed relationship. Therefore the ring on the guys hand makes them the perfect candidate.

I read somewhere that some women see a man being married as a prime target because if he's good enough to be one woman's spouse, then there must be good reasons for it, thereby seeing him as a good candidate to be HER spouse instead, and so the competitive angles begin. Actually, this comes from the book "Why Women Have Sex", an EXCELLENT read BTW, but in my mind, I see this a predation. But depending on the social lens we're looking through, this kind of predation is simply being 'human'. But I couldn't help wondering if this has been other guys' experience too.

Bleh. NO!

I suppose it's easier to be friendly with a man with a ring because you (hope) think that he's taken and happy and so won't hit on you and you can actually be friendly with no expectations that they will want more.  The same thing with gay men. They aren't going to come after you... or at least they shouldn't.

I think that it's possible that too many men think that ANY attention from a woman means that she wants him.  Their thinking is skewed by their male hormones.  ;-)

I made this mistake just once and I vowed never to do it again. Me and this married woman had something appropriately in common with was a comfort to me, but she later and most unexpectedly came at me very sexually and it killed any desire to be friends with her and I moved on.

I find many guys wearing wedding rings to be attractive, because it gives me the impression he is committed and proud of his marriage.  Would I want to be with him(assuming I was available)?  No way! And if his behavior indicated that he was not committed to his relationship, he would become UNattractive.   And....if he was a married congressman that sent me a shirtless pic of himself along with a bunch of lies, I would out him on the internet!  LOL

!!!

It wasn't Adam Sandler's ring that attracted these women, but his celebrity status. Afterall, he's not the most handsome fella out there. lol

Even more attractive than a guy that wears a wedding ring, is a guy that buys me a wedding ring.  The bigger the diamond, the more attractive.  LOL

What is attractive is faithfulness and if a guy with a wedding ring came onto me, he's not faithful, therefore, he is extremely unattractive.
