Between the Buried and Me - The Great Misdirect is a pretty great album.
I can hear it especially in the way they groove on certain "breakdownzzz" but ever since Alaska I'd consider them more of a progressive metal band. However their first two albums were definitely deathcore as evident below.

OFFLINE | Whisteria Cottage guys. Check them out. They have crazy blast beat sections, sludgy grindcore like breakdowns, and a lot of **** influences. I think they are right up there.
Also, I dig some of the stuff from The Black Dhalia Murder, most people call them deathcore but i think they are more of a melodic death metal band. |

OFFLINE | Whisteria Cottage was at least a cut above most of the shitty deathcore bands I've reviewed but still pretty crappy and poorly written. I guess it doesn't really matter since the genre will be dead in 2 years when record labels and scene hoppers find some other genre to destroy. |

You mean like 3rd Wave pop punk like All Time Low and A Day To Remember? Worse? I thought scene kids were trying to look like hair metal bands mixed with 3rd wave emo kids but listen to briz00tal slam metal to be ironic. So is it like uptight conservative looking kids making over-done ultra liberal punk with rehashed as **** riffs and rapcore melodies? |
