Since this forum is slightly more about music than MySpace, I bring up the old challenge. Find good, solid deathcore bands. Even if it's just one album, list it and debate it.

While I've heard this band described as core of a sort I personally really don't buy it. Still, I'll bring it up for the **** of it.

Between the Buried and Me - The Great Misdirect is a pretty great album.

Job For A Cowboy is probably the best though.

Since I'm completely "-core" ignorant, what makes the above deathcore rather than regular death metal?

Based on my definition, the vocals, lyrical themes, and a tad bit of **** influence in the music itself.

A Black Rose Burial
Animosity
Molotov Solution
The Red Chord
The Faceless
The Last Felony

I think those are the only deathcore/deathcore influenced bands I like. =P

Breakdowns which are put in place for "****" dancing.

the Red Chord are awesome. Guy's vocals are top notch, none of that **** Suicide Silence rasp scream garbage. plus, the band is solid as ****. Between the Buried and Me are Prog before all else.

i dont like that deathcore is a genre. i think bands in the deathcore genre could be better defined with real genres.

Clearly, what you want is completely misaligned with reality.

The Red Chord
nothing else matters. Seriously. I enjoy songs here and there, but they mostly become samey ****. Constant breakdowns tend to do that. Between The Buried and Me are lumped in the genre cause they meld so much together.

I've never been interested by Deathcore and I have yet to hear a good 'Deathcore' band.
