I've been doing narrow stance ever since I started deadlifting. Gave wide stance a try today and my deadlifts were really solid in terms of form. The tendency to round my lower back decreases too. Gonna switch things up for a change.

So folks, which do you prefer?

If I was to do both squats and deadlifts, I would go opposites. Narrow squat, wide deadlift, simply because I lift for fun and I feel that doing the same stance in each exercise is a little redundant even if it optimizes your total.

Presently, I only do deadlifts no squats, and I need to do narrow stance deadlift, no choice, because I am using it in place of free weight squats (impossible where I lift, no racks)

Pretty good video.
Feet just a little bit less than shoulder width.

Sumo is a totally different story.

I've tried both narrow and wide stance for the deadlift and I prefer the narrow stance.  My form tends to go awry with the wide stance.

I'm still working on form for the wide stance. The dynamics of it is totally different from conventional.

And here's what I think.. if you're stuck with wide, then you'll need switch to conventional stance every now and then but if your main is conventional then there's little need to switch. Switching helps balancing leg and lower back power, IMO.
