Dead Reckoning is another great addition to the Sookie series. No matter how many Harris writes, I never get tired of these characters or the world in which they live. Maybe it has something to do with this world being as close to reality as any world full of vampires, shifters, weres, faires, and othe fae could be. This installment brings us the return of most of our favorite characters and adds a couple new ones. Sookie is, of course, facing danger at every turn and is facing harm from several different beings. She learns even more about her family history, some of which comes as quite a surprise. Harris does take the story in a direction I had hoped it would not go, but if I am honest with myself, it is a direction I knew she would have take at some point. At the end of the book, I am left left wanting more and wishing I didn't have to wait a year to get it.
