Eh, don't worry about it Dod. The masses never prepare even if it is just plain common sense to do so. I mean how many Californians think that it is wise to stockpile that sort of stuff??? None that I ever talked to (and remember that I worked there for quite a few years). In fact they by and large thought that I was crazy for doing so. Of course when calmly explained that hurricanes and earthquakes affect the citizenry much in the same way, the eyes of the more thoughtful usually light up. Of course the majority still thought they would never see a major earthquake. In Cali it is not if they will see one, but when......just like my area and hurricanes.

Same can be said for global collapse. Be it economic or germ based, we are primed. Right now we are tied together globally in so many ways. An economic collapse is very foreseeable as is a global pandemic. Historically it isn't a question of if, but when. Hopefully it will happen once I am gone, but if it doesn't, I want to be prepared. I can always use the stuff even if it isn't in an emergency and it is cheaper to buy stuff in bulk anyway. Of course if, on the off chance that something does happen, I can make a fortune off of simple things like soap and toothpaste.

Of course when talking about things like tMB, well most people I talk to sound just like most people did in the 1930's. See what happened then. It is funny how people "sensibilities" do not let them be sensible. History is always forgotten.

Um, you are stockpiling a gun or two there as well, right? Not much point in stockpiling ammo unless you have something to shoot it from... :-p

I wish someone would make a really good snake shot load for the 44 mag. The ones I carry in my pistol while hunting really aren't that great.

44 mag lever action. It is a great brush gun for where I live and it can drop anything in the Gulf area where I hunt. Got the pistol cause of the whole matching caliber thing.
