OFFLINE | Sweet Scarecrow (short story challenge #50~ Wicked)
In the middle of nowhere a dying cornfield stands untouched among all the plowed fields. Summer has come to an end. An inconspicuous path winds through the field leading to the center, where Angels gather to weep. A claw bathtub waits in porcelain and blood stains, on ground where the rain runs red. Entangled arms and legs dangle over the side and dead eyes stare out far beyond a cloud filled sky.
The laughing of crows breaks the silence of the morning, one by one they gather on the shoulders of the old scarecrow and they fly down to the bathtub for their daily feast. While the scarecrow high on his perch stands sentry.
That inconspicuous path leads to the house upon the hill where evil lives and does his own watching. The bathtub sits in his sights. Deriving great pleasure in watching the crows devour flesh, he masturbates furiously and when he is finished he screams with anger, hitting himself with his fists hating what he has done, then laughing wickedly after.
He turns around, startled by a woman tied up on his table, she is staring at him with frightened eyes, wondering what her fate will be. He can't stand himself or bear to look at her, he walks away leaving her there. Later in the darkness he returns, he picks her up, not saying a word he carries her outside. In the full moon light he follows the path to the middle of the cornfield. Having flashbacks of his own childhood he places her gently into the tub like a baby. He strips her bare.
She can feel the bodies beneath her, it makes her sick to her stomach, she vomits and chokes on it because of the duct tape on her mouth. She is one of the lucky ones, dies before he even begins. He walks away from her like she is nothing. He feels the shame and the hate for himself once again. He walks to the front yard to have a smoke, he watches the city lights twinkle in the distance. He can't resist, he can't sleep, they beckon... one more soul to reap. |

Not yet. I am hoping to getthe scrivner program first. I have a good bit of switching and moving of chapters around so I would like to use scrivner to do that instead of having the head ache of doing it manually! I also have been trying to gather all the stories I have started and stopped writing. The massive amount shocks me!!!! Glad I finally completed one! hahahha!!! |

I can't wait until the day you publish I am proud of you, I know everyone is, it's nice to know. So any hints on what it's about?
My book well it is meandering, life's events love to get in the way. So I probably do about 2000 words a week usually they are all in one day though. |

No VM's was disgusting and totally wicked. Actually ALL the stories for that thread were Wicked!!!
Well you may not be disgusted by it but I did find an audience who thought it was actually they didn't say disgusting they said, I was twisted, LOL
My teenage daughter wasn't disgusted either she said it was cool and it would make a great horror movie plot.
Though I thought VW story was wicked I didn't find it all that disgusting.
Now Randi's story, that was disgusting.

I would have to agree with your daughter it would make a GREAT horror movie plot.
I think it was VMs description of the eyeballs popping like popcorn that was disgusting - anything with eyeballs creeps me out.
I thought Randi's stories were wicked…. lol I guess that was the point huh?
I really liked reading them all and was totally glad I didn't have to vote. |
