Ok Brenda this post is for you...until I hear about any further Recruits that my son speaks about.............GUESS WHAT????????????? IT IS OUR BOYS that have become the greatest of friends!!!!!!!!!   Marquis referenced to me in one of the letters I got today that he had heard from his BUNK MATE that I was talking to his mom and he put YOUR NAME in my letter......He said and I quote..."My bunk mate told me you were talking to his Mom...Brenda Robinson?? If so that is hella cool cause my bunk mate is hella cool and we've got each others back you know..."......WOW.......what a coincidence, small world, amazing connection etc. etc. etc.......of all the people to be posting on this forum and it is you and I, who's sons are GREAT BUDDIES in Boot Camp to connect like that prior to even knowing!!!!! I think that is so amazing!!!!!!!! I will tell you this, if my son has picked up with your son that is a huge compliment to Aaron!!!!!!! As my son has no tolerance for immature people or ignorance!!!!! He is very mature for his age and it shows believe me...Of course he still acts like a goof ball from time to time but don't we all!!!! I am still so dumbfounded at this....even though we thought that it might be our two guys, I just had to pinch myself and reread that part like 4 times!!!!!!! With Aaron being 24 and very mature and Marquis being 18 and pretty damn mature this will be a wonderful thing as they can both motivate each other and help to keep each other sane!!!!! I really couldn't be happier and I am really so very happy that YOU and I have connected as well!!!! This absolutely made my day!!!!!! Nice to meet you my FRIEND!!!!!! I think we may have just entered into a lifelong friendship!!!!!!!!

It pleases me that he has found someone that he can really relate to and seems to get along with so well!!! I hope that this for them is also the begining of a lifelong friendship, and the most awesome of brotherhoods!!! Mo matter where they go!!! BTW....What is Aarons MOS??? Marquis' is Aviation Electrician......just wondering how far they will get to travel this journey together!!!!!! Again YAY!!!!!! WOOOHOOOOOO!!! YEEEHHHAAAWWWWW!!!! We were wondering the same about Marquis's MOS...Aaron's MOS is Intelligence. He will be at Camp Pendleton a couple of months then shipped to Virginia. I hope wherever their journey takes them, they will stay in touch.

Ahhh Intelligence....scared of Aaron!!!   Marquis originally wanted to do anything that had to do with Fire Rescue or Fire Safety needed 3 extra points for his ASVAB and his SSGT. was going to get him the 3 point waiver that he needed but at that time no waivers were being offered......so then he had to really dig into the jobs and see what was the best fit for him and his SSGT said that the Aviation Electrician was a very good job for him as on that line score he scored so high.....so that is what he chose.....He is planning on making the Marines a carreer so he is hoping that he gets to chose from several different jobs when all is said and done!!.....I most certainly hope that Aaron and Marquis will continue to stay in touch and even "hook" up when they have an opportunity etc......Marquis will be going back to San Diego for a spell than I think Fl for a month or so then back to San Diego then from there.......I have no idea.....He was told that deployment is in his future...I am just not sure how soon after his MOS is complete it will be.......Marquis is trying to get RA for right after his 10 day leave for a bit if it is possible.....I think that would be awesome as he would be here a little bit longer than, but I did tell him not to do anything that will jeapordize his jobs in the long run......So I guess we will see what happens with that when he gets his orders..... Again, Brenda it absolutely makes me so happy that our boys "found each other" if you will.......and I am also happy that we "found each other".....It is a really awesome story when you think about all the dynamics!!!!!

Yes our story is unique, the round about way we all "found each other".  I'm so happy this Forum exist and also recruitparents.com! Then putting bits and peices together from our son's letters was intriguing! Aaron is worried how he can see everyone in 10 days without staying away from home so I suggested to Meg that we will just have to throw another party with everyone here before he leaves again! We do love our parties!

Very unique and I love it!!!!!!   As far as seeing EVERYONE in 10 days I will admitt I think I am going to be a little selfish!!!! I will definitely be throwing a party for him when he comes home as a MARINE.....for sure..so if people want to see him, theres there opportunity!!!! LOL.... Wish we were all just a little closer so we could share in the joy and excitement with each other........But I'll tell you this, I'll have a "Red Beer" and toast you and your family and Aaron, (Red beer the only way I can drink Beer) and you do the same!!!!!! With whatever your beverage of choice is of course!!!!!! ANd heck I might just be having myself some Amaretto and Coke too who knows!!!!!!!

HEY! just a thought, how far do you all live from Oceanside, (Camp Pendleton)? After graduation that Fri. we are heading to Oceanside and  celebrating at Jolly Rogers, (resturant and bar), and then staying at LaQuinta Inn for 2 nights. It was THE place my daughter and her Marine went regularly to hang out and karaoke! We will have a bunch of talented singers with us too! I had my fare share of good times there when visiting them! Jager-bombs will do you in !    The calamari is to die for!! If you all wanted to join us that would be totally COOL & FUN!
I do realize Marquis is underage, but non-alcoholic drinks are served as well. Our guys tradition though is drinking beer straight out of a pitcher! Crazy huh? Ashley even has a drink named after her...a pink Ashley Martini! Thats how much they went!  Anywho, think about it. We will probably hit the beach on Saturday. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SNAP Apryl, I just Googled Map Atwater! Doggone you are up there in Cali, 364 mi. from Oceanside. Will you be driving or flying to San Diego? We are loading up and driving all the way baby! We have done it twice, so its a piece of cake. Just takes us 19-21 hrs depending on traffic and we drive straight through taking turns at the wheel. On our way back, we are hoping to stop in Arizona off I-10 to see Tombstone, if we're lucky and have time!

Well we only live about 5 or 6 hours away....We will be driving in on Wednesday afternoon I do believe with who knows who.....LOL.....Maybe just maybe we can drive there with you on Friday??? I will have to talk over with the "New Marine" and my husband....we are planning on going to Six Flags on Saturday if Marquis still wants to do that.....seeing as it is on our way back........although, your offer is MIGHTY MIGHTY tempting!!!!!!!! You said two things that peaked my interest, drinking oh yea and drinking!!!! ......ok well also karaoke and calamari as well......some of my favorite things!!! Now the Yager bombs I can do without but maybe a good ole stiff shot of whiskey can get me to the same level!!!!!!!   It sounds like a blast and I would love to....we will just have to see who is going to end up going with us and what everyone wants to do....... I absolutely appreciate the thought and invite though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are making me so anxious for July!!!!!!!!!!!
