Thats kind of a sad thing about living on the west coast, the native English speakers from San Diego to Anchorage (including our friends in BC) all have very similar accents. We lack the diversity of accents you guys along the Atlantic enjoy. |

OFFLINE | Sarcasm was definitely intended lol. I think girls from southern England have the cutest accent actually. Yeah I'm from the midwest originally, but I picked up some dialects while I was in the navy being stationed in Norfolk, VA. It's Nawfuk not Norfolk. |

I found that the area of Cali that I worked in (LA to SLO), there was a total lack of accent. When I first got there, I had to slow down my speech patterns and really make an effort to control my accent for many of them to understand me. It didn't take long for them to get used to it and I even influenced them somewhat......ex. say the first syllable of the word brother....that is how bro is supposed to sound. |
