So finally I get a letter from Marquis today!!!! YAY!!!!~ Of course per usual this makes my day as I KNOW it makes all of yours too when you see that self addressed envelope or your sons, BF's or hubbies handwriting in the mailbox!!!!!! First line and all the way throughout the letter....."HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MAMA"....... 2nd line and a few more times throughout the letter....TIED FOR 1ST PLACE IN INITIAL DRILL WITH PLT. 2163!!!!!~.......Marquis says that his DI's think that Plt. 2166 is the Plt. that is going to TAKE IT ALL!!!!!~ He thinks that there are a better platoon and are far more motivated than any other Plt......WOOOHOOOO!!!!~ This puts Plt. 2166 in the running for Honor Platoon!!!!!~ Marquis also told me that their DI said that whatever platoon wins the Initial Drill is usually the platoon that wins everything else!!!!!!! I am so rooting for Plt. 2166 to "SMASH" as Marquis tells me!!!! They got to listen to Music on Friday and Saturday to get them pumped up....Marquis said that was so awesome as it made it feel like home!!!!! He again has told me that on our way home we have to stop at every fast food place and every restaraunt there is!!!! ::......guess he's pretty hungry!!!! ...... One thing that I would love to "brag" about a little is Marquis told me that his DI told him that he was a very good recruit because he SOUNDS OFF NO MATTER WHAT....AND THAT HE IS LOUD AND MOTIVATED!!!!!!~ (He gets his LOUD and BIG mouth from me his MAMA!!!!) : This makes me so happy and so proud of my son!!!!~ Way to work it Marquis!!!!!!!!! He says to him BC is flying by and he is doing great and making great friends.....he says the DI's are teaching them a lot and he LOVES it and that is an amazing experience for him!!!!!!!! He is looking forward to heading to CP....and more so looking forward to July 7th when he gets to see us all!!!!~ Ok, so this is all I have for you guys for now....I hope that you both got letters today and GREAT ones at that!!!!!~ I am so proud of Plt. 2166 and hope that they keep working hard and strong during these last 2 months!!!!! Until we meet again~ Ooorrraaahhh Plt. 2166!!!

This is such great news!! Thank you so so much for sharing it with us! I'm sure tying for first will give them a confidence boost as well as incentive to work harder so there are no more ties! Aw I'm so proud of them and hope their spirits stay up! :]]

More details on Initial Drill.  While 2166 tied for first place, they didn't get the trophy because one of the recruits wasn't buttoned properly.    
The good news is, they are more determined then ever to earn Honor Platoon.

OHMYGOSH Karin ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME????????????????????????????????? GRRRRRRRRR That is so not cool!!!!!! But I guess as you say makes them more determined but that totally sucks to loose due to someone not being buttoned properly!!!!!! WOW!!! Its been 5 weeks GUYS COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband said when he was in the police academy they checked each other to make sure they were squared away.  He'll be putting that in his next letter for sure.

Which you would think that they would already do that!!! Especially with how important that is......Oh I bet that one recruit is paying in some major ways via the others........I hope it wasnt my son....LOL....he didnt say anything about that........YIKES...But i am pretty sure he would have told me if it was him......I mean geez he told me he got fired from Squad leader!!!! !!!!! Ok I heard today though from my sons recruiter that sometimes Recruits do get fired for being too good........although my son made no implication of that to me....LOL......but he was fired in the begining so I told him that he has plenty of time to regain that position!!!! LOL.....I dont thinkit was either of our sons ....i thikn they would have told us....

WELL GEEZ GIRLS! I HAVE BEEN WORKING ALL DAY AND JUST NOW SAW HOW OUR PLATOON DID!!! TIED FOR 1ST BUT THEN NO THROPHY BECAUSE A LONE RECRUIT WAS BUTTONED UP WRONG??? THAT **** AIN"T RIGHT!!! I GUESS I'LL HEAR IT FROM AARON! NO LETTER CAME TODAY, HOPING THURSDAY.  I HOPE THIS GETS THEM MOVTIVATED TO DO BETTER IN GETTING EVERYTHING SQUARED AWAY! LET'S GO FOR HONOR PLATOON!!!! Apryl, I'm glad you got an awesome letter today! I hope mine will say the same thing on top as yours! I hope Aaron wasn't the one buttoned wrong or one of his 15 guys he is leading, because then he can get fired from being squad leader! I am so anxious for my letter! So happy for Marquis about the DI's compliments...kudos to him! Sounding off is SO important and a few not doing it loud enough can make the whole platoon fail. But anyways, again so happy to hear the good news and I'll talk to you again soon my friend!!

Uhm Brenda, Aaron forgetting to "properly button"...... YEA RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im thinking that to him would be like one of us forgetting to turn the ignition on in the car!!!!!! I think Aaron is in the CLEAR!!!!!!BUT I will totaly agree with you......COME ON PLT. 2166 LETS GET THIS STUFF RIGHT!!!!! You guys have been here for almost 6 WEEKS NO EXCUSES!!!!!!! That should be second nature to YOU!!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!   OH MY GOODNESS I hope you get a letter soon!!!!!! It felt like forever for me until yesterday......I was like COME ON MARQUIS!!!!!!! LOL....... I hope yours says it as many times as mine did Brenda!!!!
