Ok so I received another letter from my son today!!!! YAY!!!!! He was writing me from Medical waiting to get his wisdom teeth pulled......OUCH....So I can only assume that this was at the begining of this week.....then he writes that he has to get "portholes" AKA Glasses........I must say I was a little shocked at this one as I never thought he needed glasses.....He has had his eyes checked here at home several times and the need never came up.........I had to write back to him and laugh at that as I can only imagine how he will look in those "Revenge of the Nerds" glasses!!!!!!!! LOL....He still seems to be in very good spirits and adjusting well to boot Camp....He wishes that his Platoon would "SOUND OFF" more when they need to......and I think the food is starting to take a toll on him as this is the first time that he has mentioned that he can't wait to have STEAK, MASHED POTATOES, GARLIC BREAD and a few other things that I cook for him.......He has lost about 10 pounds since he has been there......Mind you he is only 5'3 and only weighed 140 when he went in......so I hope he is all muscle then!!!!! LOL......He is still "House Mouse" and he is usually the first on "Fire Watch"......so I can only assume that means he gets a little more sleep in the long run!!!!~ I absolutely LOVE hearing from him and hope that at some point this week he has started receiving our letters.....as of now it would appear that he hasn't.....I have received a total of 4 from him...... This makes me very happy and most definately puts my heart and mind at ease!!!!!!! I hope all the other parents, family members etc. are hearing from your guys in Plt. 2166.......Hang in there all....We are 19 days into 13 Weeks.....Until we meet again~Oorraahhh....Good Luck Plt. 2166

Same here Apryl! Our son wrote home and he also went to the dentist but had to get 4 cavaties filled! He too has to wear portholes but from the get go. I wish I could get a pic of him in those goofy glasses! lol  He was dissappointed when mail came and he didn't receive any...made my heart hurt    but he knows his are on the way. He likes the chow on Saturday's, says it is awesome. But on Family Day, he wants a burger, fries, and a Dr Pepper! He finds comfort going to chapel which pleases my heart. Apryl, I asked my son in one of my last letters if it is your son he was talking about, so we'll know when he writes again. He writes pretty much 3 letters a week, one for us and TWO to his girlfriend. LOL! She loves to rush over and get hers.I'm a little jealous! I hope the rest of you are receiving letters, and according to my son, it is very important that they get those incouraging letters from us..it makes ALL the difference!    Here's to Plt. 2166  Ooh rah!

Brenda I am so glad you responded...I almost feel like a "lone wolf" on here...LOL.....WOW...I wonder if they were in Medical together???? OMG at the glasses and the picture!!!!!! I totaly want to see a picture as well.....But I did hear somewhere that if you can see without them you don't have to wear them...as I said I never knew he "needed" glasses......he never did here...but oh well if it helps it helps!!!!! LOL....I am not sure when we will start seeing pictures of the Recruits...I had heard that it might be after Phase 3???? But don't quote me on that....I will keep digging for sure....I can't wait to hear if it is my son that YOUR son is referrring to...My son is very sociable for the most part...Just like me... So I hope that it is my son he is referring to Brenda!!!!! My son also finds a lot of comfort in going to Church on Sundays....I LOVE that!!!!!! Yes I think they LOVE the letters and it definately helps them....I sent him a mini package with letters a razor and some deoderant, self addressed/stamped envelopes and a pen on Monday a seperate card and then a letter every day this week.......I don't think he has received any of them yet and it is KILLING me as I don't want him to think we havent written!!!!!! I know you know what I mean Brenda...as a Mom we never want them to feel that way....My son has sent me 4 letters in total....always addressed to me but starts it with Hey Guys...so I know it is for all of us...... I DO LOVE THOSE LETTERS!!!!!!!!! Brenda where are you located? I am in California.....Good Luck Plt. 2166...We are ALL CHEERING FOR YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!! Ooorraaahhhhhh!!!!~

Oh yes and toooo funny about the food!!!!! My son hasn't said anything about it being good...LOL...He did tell me that they had Stroganoff the other day it did not compare to mine.....Awww what a good son that knows how to butter his mamma up!! HAHAHA...I will have to ask him if he likes Saturday Chow.....

Yes, its Saturday, Good chow for my boy tonight! Before I get Aaron's letter I am 90% sure your son is the same one, why you ask? I just remembered in (his girlfriend's letter) that the guy was from CA! It has to be your son, who else could be in the same platoon, with your last name and from Cali!??? I can't wait to found out! Well Brenda lets hope so!!!!!!!!!!!!! So has he said anything about my son?????? He would either be called, Brandon, or Marquis, or "Geno".......you could see either last name......Roberson or Borba......the name thing is a LONG LONG story...........hey Brenda if you have a FB page and you are feeling froggy....you can always look me up and add me if you would like... Pretty much so! I got off of work this morning at 7am and I usually crash right away. I'm wired today...I think because I'M ANXIOUSLY WAITING FOR THE MAIL!!!! Ok just talked to Aaron's girlfriend, and I asked her what he said about the guy. He's from Sacremento and he is 18 yrs old? Is that him???!!!

Ahhhh shucks....NO....We live in Atwater Ca.......man are you kidding me with the names all being so close like that???? LOL The last names I mean.......I hear you about the mail.....you should be really close to getting yours right?? Isn't it about 11:18 or so in Texas???? It's only 9 something here...but I already havev my letter out to mail!!!!!!! Marquis is 18 though....he will be 19 in October....

Wired is an understatement.....LOL I have my good days and I have my not so good days......as I said when the mailman doesn't bring anything to me I'm like..WTH????? LOL.....I just want Marquis to FINALLY get our letters!!!!!!!! I really hope he got at least one this week.......That is what is causing me the most anxiety right now......
