OFFLINE | The historic Exodus from the end of 20 century and first decade of 21 century brought approximately 325,000 Jews from former Soviet Union into the United States out of 1.6 million of total immigrants. Many of us came here without money, citizenship and no place to return since the Soviet government took everything from us when we left. Nevertheless, in little more than three decades we have achieved astonishing success here. From running a small business in local neighborhood to running global enterprises Russian speaking immigrants, Jews and non-Jews, and our children have enriched our adaptive country in many ways. Never in the history of immigration to the United States, in such a short period of time, have such a small number of immigrants contributed so much for this country.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the beginning of the Second Exodus of Jews. To commemorate this jubilee we have decided to establish an Award in Arts, Science, Engineering and in other fields.
This Award is to honor and remember our men, women, and children for the work we have been doing and to preserve and pass to young generations our success and perseverance to benefit our families, our community and the United States of America.
Thank you,
Michael Roth, Executive Director www.EuroZone.US |
