OFFLINE | In the history of the Holstein breed. Starting with "The Queen of The Breed" Roxy, there have have been some great cows who have had immense impact. I was wondering who most breeders think has had the greatest impact in the pas 12 years? |

OFFLINE | To have the most impact they must have been the dam of great sons and the would be Dellia. |

OFFLINE | Well Dellia's son Durham.... is the sire of Barbie, who has had more impact in the last five years....thus adding to Dellia's glory.
Rud Zip has also been very influential the last 5 years...earning her breeders, the breeder award (Whitey Mckown) at the WDE this year. |

OFFLINE | In the last 5 years perhaps the most dominating family has been 2nd wind without a doubt

OFFLINE | Ya, we are just finished tabulating our Golden Dam contest and the results have been very interesting. Both these two are well presented. 2nd wind had lots of fan support and Delia had 5 different defendants in the competition, |

OFFLINE | i personally have to say that Roxy has had the largest influence in the breed. She was able to transmit her genetics to both female(so many good ones have dominated the last few years with Whitdale-D Hvezda Sky-RED being the most heard of lately) and male sides of the family. Sires that go back to her( Destry, Dusk etc.) also have been able to pass it on to their daughters so i think roxys outreach into the breed and her impact and influence on it is unmatched(so far, there are some cows though who i think are getting close). Breeders never seem to get tired of roxy bloodlines as decedents of her always do pretty well in sales. Why? because they look good and breeders( myself including, one of my first purchases a few years back is a cousin to sky.) have proven confidence of what they are dealing with. her decedents have even done well on the genomic side of the map( if thats what your into) so she really in my opinion has everyone else beat. what do you guys think? |

All i know is that the Blondin 'Supra' family has had immense success in the show ring. Probably not as notable as the Roxy's or Barbies, But After clipping 12 family members at Blondin this week they all have unbelievable udders and feet and legs..just a comment not a recommendation! |

OFFLINE | Rudolph Missy. Several Proven sons. Huge genomic impact. Sid. Top Polled Genetics as well.
I do have a lot of respect for 2nd Wind as well. Special cow with special impact on the breed especially in Canada. |
