What did I want Socially Uncensored to be?

I want SU to be a community where everyone can express themselves openly and freely, but not always complain to the staff and accuse other members of personal attack or trolling; simply because they disagree with each other. Members should be able to freely disagree with another members point of view, without claiming another member is trolling.

I wanted SU to be open-minded. A place where members could listen (read) other members opinions and thoughts, without everyone jumping (ganging) on him / her, simply because they disagreed... A place where members may disagree on one subject and not have to worry about an individual or group, following them around with "hateful" messages... ie ... Running them out.

But also where another member should be able to come into a serous thread topic and try to lighten it up with some related or off-topic humor, without them being called a troll either or being "run out", for having a sense of humor.

I wanted (still do) Socially Uncensored to also have a lighter side, where everything was not always serous discussion, but would offer comical relief and not just in "The Joker" forum.

I wanted members to respect and understand that when a member of the staff does ban someone, there really is a good reason. To respect and understand that we will protect our community from those who undermine it. And that not everything is said in public view. And just like in real life, just because your friend is not welcome here... Doesn't mean you quit your job and go home.

I wanted a community that would understand and respect, the ideals of change and not always be set in their ways. Who would be open to fresh ideals, willing to try new things, and welcome new faces. Maybe this is why the majority of The Internet (The World Wide Web) and the multi-trillion dollars which help it expand and grow... Is continually targeted at younger generations and it is High School and College / University individuals, who lead the way... And yet, my 93-year-old Grandfather can do it, so why is it so hard for some members here?

This was is my continued hope for Socially Uncensored.
