OFFLINE | I have to say that I was pretty apalled when I read this post..so I had to go to google to look up this "so called" man. Certainly I say that loosely...because I don't believe anyone who makes those type of comments even deserves recognition. Interestingly enough, I found his webpage for his reelection. Yes....this man was seeking yet ANOTHER term for office. He has been with the House of Representatives since 1990! So.....I just wonder what his record has been? Honestly....if the voters said NO, perhaps they were just disgusted with his false hopes/promises. People are certainly NOT stupid...and this area of Virginia that he reprsents is definitely a "richer" area of Virginia. His website said this:
Here is Jim Moran’s statement on his goals in seeking re-election this November 2010:
Fighting to improve the quality of life for everyone in Northern Virginia is job number 1. The failed Bush Administration left the American economy in shambles. Over the past two years, we’ve worked hard to prevent a deeper decline and reverse the severe economic downturn that resulted from this mismanagement. At the same time, we’ve enacted historic legislative achievements, from passing health insurance reform that will make affordable insurance available to all Americans to reform of Wall Street so that the American peoples’ hard earned savings will be better protected from gross financial negligence.
In the 112th Congress, I plan to focus my energies on strengthening our region's economic vitality and diversity through promoting affordable housing, an efficient public transit system, an educational system that develops every child's full potential, and the protection of our natural environment. I believe the federal government can and should play an indispensible role in enabling individuals and their communities to maximize economic and educational opportunities, while preserving an even higher quality of life for their children and grandchildren. We must also tackle head-on the growing national debt so that future generations are not saddled with this generation’s fiscal irresponsibility.
AND...look at all he is INVOLVED in there:
A chairman on the powerful House Appropriations Committee, he now serves as head of the Interior Subcommittee, and as a senior member on the Defense Subcommittee, overseeing the budgets for the EPA, Park Service, Interior Department, Smithsonian and Department of Defense. He also chairs the Animal Protection Caucus, co-chairs the Congressional Prevention Caucus, leads the Task Force on Sovereign Wealth Funds and was an original co-founder of the New Democratic Coalition.

Honestly...this guy has the NERVE to say what he said? He's been involved since 1990 and has done NOTHING great for his fine state. Perhaps voters finally said, enough is enough! |
