Abuse of this forum will get you banned.  Forms of abuse include: 1) improper language, 2) doctor bashing (and using their name), 3) bullying and arguing, 4) providing bad advice (clearly the most common problem we have), 5) posting long, drawn out stories, 6) taking over the forum by feeling the need to post on every topic, every day (another common problem--don't do it).

Another problem that can not be tolerated is lying. Believe it or not, people will lie about their lab values and their doctor's advice. Be honest and do not exaggerate your lab values to make your point. An occasional problem is the patient who "wants" hyperparathyroidism because it provides a relatively simple solution (surgery) to feel better. Not everybody who feels bad has a parathyroid tumor and exaggerating your lab values so that you appear to have a parathyroid problem degrades the value of this forum. Yes, folks, this happens--and it will get the offender banned.
