  While there are a few perks from this that I would use, sadly the best perk is the bonus when purchasing diamonds with real money but with my family living on my husband's disability income I can not afford to purchase diamonds.

  My suggestion is to offer either shorter length memberships for players that just need/want to collect the fish/items for a price in diamonds that could be more easily afforded and/or offer the VIP as a reward for one or more of the achievements (many games offer their premium memberships as rewards) and one other possibility is to offer a free one for reaching a certain level in the game.
