 OFFLINE | There are 465 village employees (including police/fire) listed on the Village's annual 2015-2016 report. Here is some interesting data:
- The Village of Tinley Park pays a "Bench Coordinator" position $19,000 per year.
- 100 full-time village employees (excluding police/fire) average a compensation of $113,628 per year.
- 114 part-time and seasonal village employees (excluding police/fire) average a compensation of $31,180 per year.
- The police chief, sergeants and deputy police chief positions average $174,938 compensation per year.
- 71 patrol officers each average $132,400 in compensation per year (while 5 part-time patrol officers each average $28,711 in compensation per year). In a low-crime, sleepy suburban community, this is a very high average compensation for police officers.
- There is little data regarding the Fire Department compensation on the Village's Salary Report; the salaries provided are minuscule - look for yourself on the report. If there is data any resident has on this, please share and we will post.
- The Village maintains 92 employee vehicles, most of which go to police and fire departments, but the Village also provides vehicles to the: director of public works, village manager, building commissioner, street superintendent, director of economic development, assistant village manager, planning director, and the assistant director of public works.
- The Village allows for these vehicles to be used OFF-DUTY! Talk about liability...
- 6 Village accountants each make an average compensation of $92,100 per year. Nearly half a million dollars per year for accountants?
- 8 assistants to the (mayor, economic developer, village manager, treasurer) each average $109,764 compensation per year. Nearly a million taxpayer dollars per year for 8 assistants?
- 4 Office coordinators/secretaries each average $93,314 compensation per year.
- 30 clerks and clerical positions each average $49,575 compensation per year.
- 34 maintenance workers each average $96,688 compensation per year. Nearly $3.3 million dollars per year for 34 maintenance workers?
- A records supervisor is compensated $110,035 per year... and a midnight records clerk collects compensation of $80,904 per year. What's a midnight records clerk?
- Director of Planning (Amy Connolly) makes a hefty compensation of $164,108 per year. She recently resigned after serious misconduct allegations, but remains on the Tinley Park School District 146 School Board.
- A quality and training supervisor is compensated $122,326 per year.
- CSO Crime Free Housing position makes $77,709 per year.
- CSO Crime Prevention position makes $83,505 per year.
- CSO Parking Enforcement positions makes $72,461 per year.
- The Tinley Park Library has an annual payroll of $2.97 million dollars with 77 people collecting a salary.
- Tinley Park Park-District's 5 managers average a compensation of $115,500 each - over half a million dollars. The additional staff salaries are not disclosed.
- The Park District defers almost all of their audit reports, treasurer reports and financial information to the Daily Southtown/Star newspaper on the date they posted the information. NO information is available online. (The Park District is not transparent).
- The Park District does offer taxpayers the ability to view financial reports "for public inspection at the administrative offices of the Park District during business hours." How convenient for working taxpayers.
