   The Obama administration plans to intensify a crackdown on employers of illegal immigrants with the establishment of an audit office designed to bolster verification of company hiring records.

I think this is a great idea!  Bush should have done this instead of focusing on rounding up thousands of illegals.  To me, if you go after the workers, unscrupulous employers will just hire other illegals.  If you go after the employers, you get at the root.  If the jobs dry up, the illegals should look elsewhere.

Welfare benefits for the children of illegal immigrants cost America's largest county more than $600 million last year, according to a local official keeping tabs on the cost.

Combined with public safety costs and health care costs, the official claimed the "total cost for illegal immigrants to county taxpayers" was more than $1.6 billion in 2010.

Meanwhile California is so far in debt and begging for bailouts.

I know.  Did you see the video of the 2 women climbing the fence on the border?  Who designed that fence anyway?  Pelosi?



They should have strung about 3 rows of coiled razor wire on the ground about 3 feet from the base on our side of the border, so that once illegals got to the top of the fence, there would be no place to land on the other side.  (Btw...they put razor wire on many US military reserve perimeters to keep vandals out and so far they work).

Follow this up with an increase in hiring more border control agents.  We need jobs and there's a need for more agents on our border.

yeah, but this has to be a politically correct fence, and not be able to hurt anyone in any way.
