 OFFLINE | The Unity Jam is called to life in order to reunite the physical elements of Hip Hop culture. This means that the Turntablist will play instrumental breaks, while the Emcees rap over it, and while the dancers are rocking the floor at the same time. The spot is decorated by a graffiti writer and there will also be a info stand in order to represent the Knowledge element in full effect. Freedom and artistic development are a priority at this jam, so there won't be a tight schedule.
We will also combine this edition with a lecture, in which the theme of Unity will reoccur. The title of this education is "Old Skool + New Skool = True Skool!", in which the unity within the different generations will be the central theme. The first two speakers will each talk about their generation and the thirth speaker will talk about how the generation can join together to form a strong and varied unity.
Through this jam and its activities we stay true to Hip Hop's spiritual principles. A couple of these principles are Peace, Love, Unity, Fun, Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding. "Each one, teach one!" This directly relates to the mission we want to accomplish with this jam.
Members from Zulu Nation West Holland, Pasukan Warriors and Amsterdam of Movement work together to realize this. The plan is to continue doing things together for the community in the future. By the community for the community!
