Historically conservatives worldwide have stated categorically that governments have no place in business - privatising any areas where governments have managed/owned national enterprises. Sometimes for the better, but often for the worst

Looking at the first week of Trump in office though I am wondering if business, and the business mind are incompatible with public service. Thus far he seems to be attempting to manage the country like a tinpot dictatorship, and flying by the seat of his pants-whilst everything he has done thus far can be seen as benefitting corporations and the wealthy (ie himself and cronies).

Now i am squarely in the camp of people who think he is a dangerous cretin and worse will follow....but is the mindset required for public service and business so vastly different? I see it as a matter of efficiencies and reinvestment...whether for societal needs or corporate needs. Just the motivation differs.
