This platoon of parents seems to be very active so I wanted to ask you all a question.  My son just reported this Monday 6/6 and I wanted to follow along with his training.  I went through Boot Camp in 88 so I'm sure things have changed a little.  So I was wondering what training matrix have you all used?  A link would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help, soon your sons will become my brother and part of a very elite fraternity.

Semper Fi,

Chad

Hey there Chad and congratulations on your son making this awesome commitment!!!!!! As you are a Marine I am sure you are VERY PROUD!!!!!!!! Yes we are pretty active in here and have been since our sons and BF's left back on April 11th.....I will admitt to you that this forum has been wonderful as not only do you get to meet parents and significant others from your sons/BF's platoon but you really do create an awesome bond as the 4 or 5 of us that post in here have!!!! It has definitely helped me through this journey!!!!!! I am proud to say that I have made some LIFELONG Friends!!!!!!!
...I actually got my sons Matrix from his Recruiter right after he left....he just made a photocopy for me and that is what I have been going off of...and I even posted the remaining schedule up for all of us a few days ago.......Another place you can try going to is the actual Marine Web site!!!!!

Welcome Chad and yes we are the only ones who stay active on the forum and glad you came over for info. Please join us in disscussions if yours don't. Better yet, YOU start your Company/ Platoon forum, just like Apyrl did and hopefully others in the same plt will respond!! Its my chance to here to say a big THANK YOU to you APRYL!!!  If it wasn't for you I would not have found the amazing friend/friends that I have now!!  YOU ARE AMAZING!!! Amanda/Karin/Lynette you are too!! This forum has helped all of us tremendously and I would have gone insane if it wasn't for the others who became my friends and helped me through this process of waiting for our guys to become Marines.
Good luck to your son Chad, he will surely try his hardest to follow in your footsteps!!

Thank you all for the input.  I hope your friendships do last a lifetime.  The ones your sons have formed surely will.  I still talk with my brothers I went through Boot Camp with even after 23 years.

As of right now Fox Company has a pretty active group, just on another site.  I hope it continues because not only do our sons need support but the family members need support as well.  One thing our group is doing is a at home Boot Camp while our sons are away.  We plan on getting back in shape to show our support to our sons. On a regular basis we plan on posting our progress to motivate and applaud each other.

Something to remember,

Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem.

Oooh Rah

Oh My Brenda!!!!!!~ Those were the most wonderful words to hear this morning!!!!! Now you do realize that I am an emotional woman RIGHT????????? Well thanks for making me shed some more tears this morning!!!!!!! .......This was a place for me to just go and express my thoughts and feelings....I had to get them out.....wether anyone would have responded or not, well I still would have done it.......even reading the posts may have helped someone!!!!!! But I am so thankful and blessed that I did come here and write down my thoughts and feelings as that led me to YOU Brenda and Amanda and Karin......The fact that we have all been able to connect and share our feelings and be validated for the way we feel has meant more to me during this journey than you all will ever know......we got to share information, compare notes and cheer on each other as well as our sons and BF during this time!!!!!!! This has been the greatest gift for me.......Ladies, we have made it beyond the halfway point, with literally ONE MONTH TO GO!!!!!!!!!~ 4 weeks from TODAY we will all be watching our sons and BF graduate and bringing them HOME with us!!!!!!!!!~ It is hard to belive that it has already been a little over 2 months since we all began this journey right here...from all over the United States!!!!!!!! These last few weeks are going to be hard I know as the day gets closer, but we have each other and with that we WILL get through this.....we will be right here for each other during The Crucible, which I am sure is going to make us all crazy as we await that phone call from our guys, we will be right here through the very last day prior to everyone's travels to SD.........I can't wait to meet you all in person, to meet your awesome sons and BF  to meet the rest of your families and to embrace each of you with the BIGGEST HUG EVER!!!!!!~ I LOVE MY PLT. 2166 Family!!!!!!~ You are all AWESOME and again I am so happy that it was all of YOU that I got to share this journey with!!!!!!!!~ Oorraahhh Plt. 2166.......We are all rooting for you and cheering you on!!!!!!!!~
